First off, if you haven't been here... GO! Everything about the place was great except for the cost (which was a little high in my opinion). I started with dinner, which was way better than I expected it to be. Being that it's a chain, I expected the typical chain restaurant food. The menu had lots of really good options, again... I wouldn't expect from a chain. I ended up getting the handmade fried chicken sandwich and I would give it a 5/5 (I will actually go back just to have that sandwich again). The decor is very modern and very tastefully done. It was completely isolated from the gaming/bar area. It really felt I like I was eating in some modern restaurant, that you would typically find downtown. They could have had a better beer selection, but they did at least have beer on draft. The wait staff we had was very polite and professional. That is something that lacks, at almost every place I go to these days. The food didn't take long to arrive and as I mentioned was very good. Once we completed eating, we went into the gaming area which was very friendly and lively. They had a decent selection of games, all of which would be very fun for kids (there also was some more "older" crowd games in the back for adults). There was always something available and you never had to wait to long to play if it was busy (this is one of the downsides I will touch on at the end). All in all, it was a great time and I will definitely do it again. With that being said, these are the things that made me not give a 5 star review. You have to purchase a card to be able to play the games (the card should be free in my opinion). Then once you have the card, you have to purchase tokens to play (as you would expect). Not knowing how much the games consumed, we purchased $25 of tokens (I think it was $28 with the card fee). I would say within an hour, all of those tokens were gone (only 1 child played the games). We didn't just blow through all the tokens either. We walked around checking out the games and selecting the ones the child wanted to play. Some of the games lasted for only a few minutes at best. I understand the business model. However, f we you had a family of 4 (Mom, Dad and 2 kids) and went here and had the same experience we did... it would end up costing you over $200 easily (we did purchase a few alcoholic drinks during the stay... which seems to fit with the motif if you will). I wish I had taken some pictures to share (I will the next time for sure). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know. It really offers something for everyone and...
Read moreI decided to end my daughters birthday fun day with dinner and games at Dave and Busters. We will start with the table. They put myself , my friend and 4 young girls at a table right by the doors. We spent our entire meal freezing from the cold wind down our backs and within 2 minutes our food was cold. We are sat at this table and within .5 seconds our waiter was asking for our order. I hadn’t even had a chance to pick up the menu. I ordered an app for my friend and I and one for the kids. They were the same appetizer, and were delivered almost 10 minutes apart. While eating my cold dinner, several “large” guests had to walk by our table to leave as we were right by the door and there was no room so they literally walked over my table and our food. Then the workers came and swept garbage all around my table while we are actively eating. At the end of the best birthday dinner ever, I wasn’t even given a receipt , the waiter came over with his machine and announced to the table the total of $132.00 dollars. No discrete handing off the check, an actual announcement. No paper checks but could give me a paper receipt and wanted to stand there and watch me while I figured out his tip. The starting recommended tip amount starts at 18%! I work very very hard for my money and the food and service were not even close to satisfactory. He still got a $20 tip that he most certainly didn’t deserve. We then go to play games. They have a “deal” when you buy more but told me they couldn’t split it between 4 cards. The cheapest package was $25 and I was told it would last 15 minutes by the worker. If the kids wanted about an hour of play time, she suggested $45 cards for each. Mind you these are the same games at many arcades including Laserton and the “prizes “ are cheap little toys. If I bought them it would have been $180 on top of the $150 I spent. So over $300 for awful service, cold food and an hour of cheap games to win cheap prizes. We left without playing and it honestly ruined the end of our great day. We would have had a better experience at McDonalds. I will never again go there or recommend it to anyone. Absolutely horrible experience. We went to the Escape room and Lasertron before we went there and those two places were fantastic by far, and were reasonably priced for the experience . Don’t waste your money or ruin a special event by choosing Dave...
Read moreWent for my son's birthday originally we wanted to rent a room for a more private comfortable experience but they do not allow this for under 15 people. Even throw there was hardly anyone there. You can't book these through the actual location. You have to call and email to get quotes and it takes a few hours to get a response. There is no buffet even though this is mentioned online.
It really wasn't that bad but what I found most agravaring is that I wanted a place for the older people in our crowd to sit while kids played games. Unfortunately the only seating options are the bar or to be seated to eat and not to just relax and spend your money at your own pace. I probably would have stayed longer if this was an option. Half of our party left due to seating. The guy who seated us tried to put us at the really high tables and we had seniors in out crowd. Not sure what he was thinking but I had to tell him that table was not an option and it took him almost 10 minutes to find us another table even though there was hardly anyone there. Food was ok priced but not that good. The bread on my sandwich was burnt and the ribs we ordered cane out ony a minute or 2 after we ordered it. Kinda a small menu. Kids drinks with the light up ice cubes were definitely a big hit but not worth the price as there barely a few sips in them. Mac and cheese is cheap boxed Mac that you can buy from Walmart. Our waitress was awesome and the only one they had working. Games are over priced. 4 to 6 credits per game rater then 25 cents to a dollar and you have to pay tax on your gaming card as well.
A lot of the games were out of order. Employees at the ticket exchange were just sitting on the counter hanging out.
Probably won't go back but I do not discourage others from giving it a try. I think I just expected a better experience given all the hype surrounding the idea of a place like this. I was so excited to go and it was just not...
