We went to Red Robin in Hogsheads N.Y. today. This was my first experience with the restaurant. We were seated immediately and our server Lorraine came to our table within 2 minutes. She was courteous and jovial. She took our drink and appetizer order and brought our drinks promptly. After just a few minutes, giving us time to look over the menu and make our choices, she returned and took our order and offered to check on our appetizers. She returned in short order with a stack of onion rings and a plate of boneless wings. The onions were cooked perfectly, hot and fresh. We especially enjoyed the campfire mayo dipping sauce. The boneless Buffalo wings were tasty as well, not too hot I'd say a light medium. The wife ordered cod and shrimp while I had a peppered bacon burger which I asked for sans bun and wrapped in lettuce which was not a problem. Both entrees came with fresh cut steak fries. They also had their version of seasoned salt available on the table along with the usual condiments. The portions were quite generous cooked to perfection and again served hot and visually appealing. Our server was very good, checking on us throughout our stay without being intrusive. Pricing was fair for the amount of food offered. The atmosphere was casual and not loud. Read moreYour fries are SO SALTY!!!!!! UGH. I can literally feel my blood pressure go up as I'm eating them. I can see the salt crystals on them ugh. Why do you put SO MUCH SALT ON THE FRIES??!?!
It's really gross and unhealthy. Like you know there is salt on the tables right so if you don't put enough salt then the customers can put their own salt on it, but if you put too much on( like you ALWAYS DO) then customers CANNOT TAKE IT OFF!
Also the side salad is pretty plain and terrible.
And why do you do things like add a $3! upcharge to get sweet potato fries instead of normal fries. Like why are they 3 dollars extra?!!! Like how about 1 dollar extra? How does that sound?
And why is it that you add upcharges for me getting literally ANYTHING on a burger but when I order no cheese on my burger you don't subtract anything? Like doesn't it make sense for my burger to be cheaper if I don't get cheese, because I am a vegan?? Or at least don't charge me for my extra toppings if I don't get cheese, but no it's just the same price, cheese or no cheese.
WHy don't you put MORE VEGAN STUFF ON YOUR MENU?!

Service was consistent in the beginning then deteriorated into nothing. What became apparent after about 15-20 minutes of waiting for our fries & drinks refills was that we were forgotten. After those few minutes we were checked on, drinks were brought about ten minutes after that. No apology for the wait or explanation. I work in the service industry and have for a long time. I understand if things were busy, you had call-offs, or it was just a bad night but none of this was communicated. At the end of it all to come up to the counter to pay for our bill, to be told, "Well I guess they sent everyone home." no apology, empathy, nothing. Here's the thing - I get you're stressed, irritated, you don't want to deal with people. But it's your job. It's my job when I am at work. Long story short, we just aren't going back. There's no point when you're constantly ignored, made to feel guilty for asking for refills, and in a place that's dirty and disgusting with abysmal customer service.
