I found this spot with really good reviews, and booked it for NYE approximately 2 weeks in advanced. 6pm, no oneās really out drinking yet so this time is alright⦠I picked it because the menu looked relatively good and it was close to the water. My fiancĆ© and I walked in just after I proposed to her by the water and we were sat down with a fixed NYE menu, the regular menu, and a drinks special. We sit and as we order from the regular menu that they handed us we were told āoh thereās a fixed menu for tonightā as we review that menu my fiancĆ© and I are looking at prices from $65-110. Being that the prices were so high, we agreed to split the 4 course meal. After we place our order the server comes out and tells us āour manager doesnāt want to allow this, but for a $40 fee we will do it for you, and to compensate weāll bring out larger portionsā We chose the Ribeye Steak for the entree ($110), Bruschetta as an appetizer, butternut squash ravioli, and a variety of deserts on a platter. To start they brought out Bruschetta on a cracker with tomatoās, onion and lettuce. The balled bruschetta was so heavy the cracker would break. My fiancĆ© and I were laughing at it but brushed it off in hopes that the next few dishes would be more appetizing. The Butternut Squash ravioli came out and we were astonished with how it looked. They had some type of herb sticking out of the ravioli⦠it looked like a tree or something emerging from this compost of a dinner. It tasted as bad as it looked, but the fact that I paid $180 for this dinner I wasnāt leaving anything behind. The only hope to saving this night, the steak⦠failed. Absolutely failed. As I bit into this steak I tasted nothing but the tears knowing how much money I just spent and Iām biting into a steak with Walmart Brand Montreal steak seasoning. They never even asked how we wanted it cook they just gave it to us rare. It was awful, I couldāve cooked a better steak in an easy bake oven. I will say, the desert platter was actually magnificent, it was the first time I saw a smile on my fiancĆ©s face the whole time we were there. That rainbow cake was magnificent. As the bill came out I just put my card on the clipboard and handed it back, I was definitely disappointed by the price in comparison to the quality, the server comes back and tells me that they lost my card⦠they dropped my card on the floor and couldnāt find it. I look up at my fiancĆ© and she can see the red in my eyes⦠eventually they found my card but it was secured on the clipboard, how do you lose that? Overall the experience was just terrible and the sad part is there wasnt more than 3 other parties in the establishment. I just proposed to the love of my life and then I made her sit down and get a good taste of disappointment. Donāt take your significant other here, I donāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDITED REVIEW: Very disappointed how this place has gone downhill. We come here every other month for brunch cause it used to be my favorite spot (see below review). Over the past few times though the service has really slipped and the food quality is not as good (slight difference not major). So I have revised my review.
This last time we came here they wanted to sit me and my wife next to a really chatty crowd; the rest of the restaurant was empty and they told me we couldn't sit at the tables pictured since there were reservations for those tables already. So we sat instead at a high top. The person behind the bar ended up as our server and really didn't come over at all once she got 2 people sitting at the bar. I watched her go from her phone, to chatting with the two friends of hers at the bar, and then back to her phone. The other servers were doing the same thing at the end of the bar and really seemed more preoccupied with their phones then their service. I don't think a manager was around because they were all young. Anyways...I hope the service improves because I really do enjoy coming here, but we may be looking for another brunch spot now. BTW, those tables stayed empty until we got our check š¤·āāļø
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Just discovered this place, it has the best brunch I've ever had. I won't go anywhere else on the weekend from here on out. Try the lobster eggs benedict! The drinks are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne big time advise if you want to dine here - don't sit outside!!!!! Everything started ok with decent margarita and small plates until 4-5 bees hover around the food. One bee was even drawn in the drink. The manager was ok to change the margarita. When we asked him to change the small plates due to food safety concern, he started to have attitude. He brought back a bowl back and claimed it's freshly made calamari but it was obvious the portion is smaller than a regular plate. They just changed from the original plate to a bowl. We didn't touch the calamari anymore. We also noticed when we sat down inside and told the manager the bees also stung the wings, the bartender behind the bars looked at us and kept shaking her head. When I looked at her, she was afraid to make eye contact. Later, when our entree came, Thick Chick sandwich, we found the bun is not fresh. You can easily smell it being stale. Given the negative vibe from the manger and the bartender, we didn't even bother to complain. The waitress served us is nice and apologized for our unpleasant experience. The manager never approached to us again after the bee incident to show any sincere concern or hospitality. Both my friend and I believe we were being treated in this way because we are the only minority customers there. So if you are colored,...
