Larkfield Plaza Delicatessen — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

I went to this deli for the first time yesterday and upon entering the store, I was greeted by the owners of the store. They were extremely nice. Probably some of the nicest business owners I’ve ever met. That is why it pains me to do this but this is unforgivable.

I ordered a blt extra bacon. I got my food and I left to go back to work. I opened the sandwich and took a bite, and the bacon was SUPER burnt I mean not just over cooked bacon, it literally crumbled and was hard to chew. I was starving and by the time I discovered this, I couldn’t return to show them the sandwich because I had to go back to work. This bacon should not have been served to a customer at all. I don’t know how you let an extremely poor quality item be served to a customer. It was literally inedible. I threw it away and returned to work. But it bothered me ever since.

I don’t know if the kid making the sandwich just didn’t look at the bacon and gave me the severely burnt inedible bacon, or maybe it was the color of my skin. I really don’t know what it was but what I do know is that any person in the food service industry would look at the bacon and know for a fact the it should be thrown away instead of serving garbage to people. Been here several times. The hungry man is absolute fire! The owners are extremely nice and great people! I come here at least once a month for breakfast on my way to work. I've stopped in a few times for lunch and lemme tell you.... The price is beyond fair and the sammy is as fat as me! Where else are you gonna get a fat boars head hero in todays market for a fair price? No where, thats where! Decided to pop in for a quick bagel after stopping at Hummel Hummel next door and it paid off. The staff was really welcoming and polite. The deli is super clean. All the meats, salads, etc are all nicely wrapped and look great. My toasted everything bagel hit the spot. It was super soft on the inside and had a perfect toast.
