This afternoon, I ordered a large Mint Oreo Blizzard at this location through the mobile app. I picked up my order in the drive thru. Upon tasting it, I realized immediately that it was strawberry flavored and made incorrectly. I returned to the drive thru, showed my completed order to the employee, and the employee agreed to remake the order. Before my order was remade, another employee came to the window, I showed her the completed order information on my phone so that she could verify my order, and she asked for the incorrect order back. I stated that I already tasted it and asked why she wanted it back. She states that she is going to throw it away and that she couldn't provide me the correct order without receiving the incorrect one back. When I asked her why she would rather throw away the product that allow me to keep it, she said because she couldn't give me two Blizzards and only charge me for one. I asked for the manager and this employee told me she was the manager. I asked to speak to the owner and she asked why as if the answer to her question wasn't obvious. She would not supply contact information for the owner of the location, closed the drive thru window while I was speaking once I gave her the incorrect product back, and returned to the window with the correct order. I'm leaving this review in the hopes that the owner of this location reads it and takes corrective action with the staff. It costs the restaurant nothing to allow a customer to keep incorrectly prepared food rather than throwing it away which is why no restaurant I've ever been to has asked for the food back in such a situation. Throwing away food a customer could otherwise still eat is the equivalent of intentionally throwing the customer's satisfaction (already damaged by not receiving the correct order) in the trash. When someone asks to speak to the owner, that person should receive the contact information for the owner not a childish attitude in response. I would be happy to communicate with the owner to follow...
Read moreI enjoy frequenting Dairy Queen. The food is good for the most part and the ice cream is always good. With that said, I have to speak about my experience today and in prior visits. I pulled into DQ just wanting to get some take out thru the drive thru. When I pulled in, we were the only car in the drive thru. I male voice came over the speaker. I placed my daughters order first and then placed mine. I had to repeat my drink choice (coke) 4 times. I had had to correct him on mine and my daughters orders. He wanted to give my daughter a flamethrower burger, and mine was off by a few details. After the corrections were made, we pulled up to the window. Where we then sat for 13 minutes. We ordered two burgers and a fry and cheese curd with drinks. At no point did anyone say it was going to be a little while, no one apologized for the wait. As a matter of fact, I was just handed the bag and looked at strange when I opened the bag to examine the order. In the past my orders have been messed up and I wanted to double check. Order looked good enough to leave. We returned home to only have my daughters burger be wrong, but mine was wrong too. No napkins or sauces were given or asked about either. I wasn’t going to drive back. In years past I’ve never had this issue with our local DQ. This spring / summer, it’s happened 4 times. Your employees were not over whelmed with customers, it was me in the drive thru and a older couple eating outside at one of your tables. Please speak to your employees about customer service. I wouldn’t have minded waiting if it was communicated to me. I’ve had many pleasant experiences at your DQ but after a few times now, I felt the need to speak up. This is the first review I have ever written. Hopefully that alone...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about the service I received from this Dairy Queen in Hyde Park. Long story short, I thought I ordered an ice cream cake from the Wappingers store online for my daughters birthday. Come to find out they don’t even take on line orders and we’re beyond rude and disrespectful. I even had an email confirmation from the Wappingers Store confirming my order. Now, I didn’t have a cake for her birthday. Any good parent knows what a disappointment that could be for a birthday party! My husband then called the Hyde Park Dairy Queen and they made a cake and had it ready for pick up with such short notice! They even took special care when making the cake because we have a peanut allergy. I can’t thank them enough for saving the day and I will always take my money to this store to support a business who will go the extra mile! It is so...
