Bella Cucina — Restaurant in Town of Islip

READ THIS ! My spouse and I only had 5 minutes before we needed too drive to the Ferry or we would miss it, but we were SOO hungry! We were only looking for a gas station to get chips because of time constraints. When this lovely spot caught our eye with their pizza by the slice. Apon entering we were greeted by 2 fellas. I could be wrong but to me it seemed they maybe related, best guess was grandpa and grandson. They were warm welcoming and happy to even share a tasting of their own “boom boom” sauce. We ordered one sausage and one chicken parm Stromboli. They cut them in half and packed them warm with boom sauce and red sauce, and even some parm sprinkle cheese. We decided we would share so we can taste both. First up was the sausage. It was love at 1st bite for us BOTH! The perfectly crisp outside with a filling to dough ratio that was heavenly! The blend of peppers and cheese paired well with the sausage. The chicken parm is a Classic and did NOT let us down! Just like the sausage’s crispy dough & warm center, and perfectly cut, bite size portions of chicken! Although we had sauces, it was NOT needed for either of the items, but indeed we saved them to try at home. As my niece would say, this was definitely a “GREAT mistake for me”! We happened to have had an appointment a few buildings away. I had some time to run and get a slice. I googled "good pizza" and Bella Cucina came up. I walked in about 1:45 p.m. yesterday (Thursday). They had some real Mouthwatering specialty slices!! The atmosphere seemed family oriented and the people that work there were so charming, professional and just very kind. I could not Take my eyes off the vegetable pizza. I ordered one slice. When I opened it in the car it had a thin (Not too thin) like crunchy crust with sooo many amazing, fresh, sauteed vegetables, even black olives! The sauce was amazing. It seriously was the best veggie pizza slice that I have ever had. The topping amount was double what any other pizza place has ever put on a specialty slice. This little place is a hidden gem in West Islip. The food is fresh, well-prepared and DELICIOUS! The prices are fair, considering the quality of their food. The pizza was a very welcome surprise - it tasted like REAL NEW YORK PIZZA, with a crisp crust, lovely (not 'tinny') sauce like most places have), this coming from a pizza snob, connoseur like me, is a RAVE! The place is also quite clean, which is a great bonus...wouldn't want to run into that cunning Pizza Rat, so it's cleanliness is wonderful. They're giving Cafe' Gio in West Babylon a rin for their money (Cafe' Gio is overpriced, their sauce is very tinny, and their food is no longer that good!).
