Cooky's Deli Inc — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I ordered a cream cheese bagel with hash browns. When the food was delivered I open my bagel and there’s a hash brown in the middle of my bagel smeared and covered with cream cheese. I’m sorry but who the hell eats a hash brown with cream cheese on a bagel?

I told them on the phone that I wanted the hash browns on the side obviously and they said people have ordered that before. So basically they told me it’s my fault I didn’t specify I wanted hash browns on the side when clearly it’s common sense and I did specify I wanted an ORDER of hash browns.

Then my fiancé ordered a hungry man special and he usually gets it on a hero automatically and when he got it on a roll, he didn’t want that. Then again, they said it was HIS fault because he didn’t specify he wanted it on a hero when usually it comes on a hero.

Even when my mother in law was ordering her food the woman was nasty to her because she was repeating what was gonna be on her sandwich while looking at the menu. The lady said “I don’t need you to repeat ingredients to me”

Then we called them back and explained they got 1 order right out of 3. Then they explained that they could give us a refund or deliver the correct order but not with my fiancé’s hungry man hero. They said he’d have to pay full price for it if he wanted it delivered here because we didn’t specify we wanted it on a hero. It should be the business’s job also to ask how they would want their sandwich and repeating the order back to the customer so they get orders correct. As the phone call continued, they said we can’t deliver anymore we’re sorry then hung up the phone on us.

I have been eating at Cooky's for over 2.5 years now, and they were my preferred place to eat over the other 4 or deli's around here. Until today. I placed an order for myself and another woman, and both orders came wrong to my office. The other woman called back to let the deli know. They said they would send a new sandwich.

Laurie is the name of the woman who took the order and the call about the order being wrong. For whatever reason, she called me back 10 mins later to argue with me about what I actually placed. She was very rude and had a big attitude about...a sandwich. Not only do I think that is a very bad way to conduct service, but to argue AFTER you already said that you were going to fix the problem is a poor business decision.

Not only did I eat there twice weekly, but so did the other 20 people in my office. Today, Laurie made it very easy for us never to eat there again. Thank you Laurie for arguing with your customer when I, and the person who heard me order, know you are 100 percent wrong. We won't be eating there again.

Oh, and making her wait another hour to get her new sandwich just to prove a point...

I can't believe as many rude people can work at the same place. This place has good food but their people absolutely suck. I have an office and have been ordering delivery from this place for a year so this is a real review. It is based upon many orders over the year. I order from a few places in the area. When ordering from a deli I order from Cooky's or Pitstop. Everytime I call Cooky's I feel as if I am annoying their staff for calling in an order. They hate their jobs and are so rude. I question how involved the owner is in the business b/c if he or she is there I can't see how they can allow this type of attitude to take over their business. That place needs to be cleaned up with new staff. Again the food is good but it's not worth getting treated the way you do. If you call the Pitstop they are so friendly and you can tell there is better management there. Cooky's can learn a lot from the Pitstop.
