Cornerstone Deli — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Really weird experience here trying to order a BEC this morning. I asked if they had turkey bacon and the young girl told me no, but they have regular turkey. I asked if they had chicken sausage or turkey sausage etc. and she told me “we don’t stock it because we really don’t have ‘those kinds’ of customers who come in there”. Very strange way to word it and I also didn’t even ask why they don’t have it (despite almost every other deli on LI having it). Ended up just getting a toasted butter bagel and I had no issue with the guy who made my sandwich. He was kind. Although I did see her walk back there while he was preparing my food. I didn’t think anything of it until I opened my bagel to find a small but really perfectly placed piece of turkey on top of my bagel. It seemed pretty dead and it was still morning…. so I’m not sure that it’s very likely a small piece of turkey just so happened to be perfectly wrapped into my butter bagel.

Strange interaction with this young girl to say the least. I don’t mind getting a butter bagel instead of a BEC at all, but the wording of “those kinds of customers” was weird in my personal opinion. Just say you don’t have it. The piece of turkey wrapped into my bagel felt a little too ironic to be a coincidence. Seems like she’s just too young and catty to be working in...

Best place around!! When I first walked in, I first realized the cleanliness. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. The food was DELICIOUS!! Best BEC I’ve had. There was a good amount of bacon, and you can tell it’s good quality meat. I got my BEC on a fresh bagel! I also got a corn muffin toasted with butter. OMG!! The muffin was so good, and it’s made in-house! I was more than satisfied.  I also like how the coffee pot wasn’t behind the counter. There's a station with fresh coffee, tea bags, and hot chocolate where you can make the beverage to your liking. Lived in Bay Shore all my life and tried many places to eat at but wasn't aware of this place until today. I Googled delis near me in hope's of something new and different and Cornerstone certainly was. I ordered a breakfast platter with French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon.
