Maxwell's — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Hosted a party here at the end of February! From start to finish it was absolutely amazing ! I was in search of a place for months and discovered Maxwells and immediately booked after speaking with their WONDERFUL manager Michelle! She was accommodating, friendly and had excellent customer service ! If it wasn’t for her I probably would not have booked! The party was affordable and although I paid for a few add ons of my own choice it was deff worth it ! Food was on point , everyone was able to drink their hearts out for three hrs and the ice cream bar was exceptional ! I would deff recommend having a party here ! Michelle thank you so much for all you did to make sure my party was a success ! You are a true angel !

My server was amazing as well, I’m not sure if I remember her name accurately but I believe it was Kendra ! She had a smile on her face and seemed like she wanted to help in any way possible! My tables were always clean and anything I needed from her she was there !

Last but not least was my awesome bartender ! I was suppose to have two but ended up only seeing one ! But let me tell you, Ashley? If that was her name was an awesome bartender , handled the volume well and was very attentive!

Maxwells is deff the place to host your party , the options , space and atmosphere make for a casual yet impressive party without breaking the bank , your service will be impeccable , and your guests will be content !

Unfortunately we were surprisingly disappointed today. We were a party of 8 adults and 2 children. We were one of the first tables seated and they were no where near crowed, maybe 2 - 3 others tables while we were there. It took approximately 1 1/2 hours to get our orders and that was after asking twice. The eggs were served cold and/ or floating in water. When I spoke to the gentleman I assume was the manager and told him how displeased and unpleasantly surprised we were he offered dessert (do you know anyone who eats dessert after breakfast?!) He also offered a round of drinks, but since we had almost 2 each waiting for our food we were not interested. He really showed no remorse and actually said "will that do it", NO. IT DIDNT. I've eaten there in the past and it was good. This was a very disappointing experience. 😞 The waitresses were good, unfortunately they had no control over the situation. You wouldn't expect this especially when the menus we were given literally consisted of 5 choices! Poor planning,...

This was our first trip to Maxwells. We stopped in during the week for a casual dinner. Parking was tricky as we had to find a spot on the street and did not see a private lot. Atmosphere is casual with a separated area with a large bar and TV's. We were seated promptly and ordered within 10 minutes. Both of us had fish & chips. For the price I was surprised at how small the portions were. Also that Haddock was not available, just Cod. It was served in a basket with shoestring fries and a very small side of Cole slaw. The Cod was 4 small pieces about 5" x 4" and although nice and crispy, it was extra greasy. Glad we got to try it, but probably won't be back because the restaurant competition is fierce here on Long Island. There are restaurants on almost every block of Main St. So if you aren't prepared to provide such excellence that it stands out from all the rest I believe customers will...
