I had lunch today at the Peter Pan with a friend. We decided to order off of the lunch menu. The lunch special menu stated that soup, dessert, coffee or tea was included in the special. I ordered the Jr. Chef menu for $12.49 off the lunch special menu, my friend ordered the hamburger special for $14.69 off the same menu. We got our soup, meal and dessert. No coffee or tea, we paid for a coke and lemonade. When we got the bill the hamburger was $15.98 because my friend ordered bacon on it. I was charged $2 for a complete lunch in addition to the $12.49 for the Jr. Chef Salad. I questioned this at the register. The menu says the lunch special includes the soup, dessert, coffee or tea. No where on the whole lunch menu specials page does it say $2 extra for a complete lunch. I took a photo of the page with my phone and examined it. Nope no $2 charge mentioned And my friend wasn't charged $2 extra for her lunch special. The manager was extremely rude and insisted I got charged for extra food I ordered- the soup and dessert. No matter how many times I asked him to show me the extra $2 on the menu he refused to look. I told him he was ripping people off $2 for each lunch special if he charges them for it even though it is not stated on menu. He went off on a rant saying he feeds the homeless, yda yada yad. Yeah he can feed the homeless ( which is great) by charging an extra $2 sneakily. If you're going to charge the extra $2print in on the lunch secial menu. $2 is not a big deal but it is most certainly the principle of the matter. Dishonesty in a business is terrible I have been going to the Peter Pan for over 35 years but I will never set foot in there again. And I did mention this to every single person I know on...
Read moreGiving 3 stars because I've only been here once, difficult to give an in-depth review. Greeted at the door by a frumpy looking man, heavy footed Adams family learch type walk to the table. Mumbled his words, had to keep asking him to repeat. Asked if a newspaper was available, took 3 times to understand his answer. Never got the newspaper. Waitress greated me with a smile, had patients with me while I took my time with a menu I've seen for a first time. Wound up just getting a cheese burger deluxe. We both laughed about that. Was one hell of a great burger, cooked perfectly to my liking. Fries were plentiful crunchy on outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Nice touch to also serve cold slaw and pickle. Ironically the only thing on the plate that wasn't up to par was something that didn't need to be there at all. They try to up the competition by placing a few obviously frozen, cold, chewy onion rings with the fries. Not needed. Prices are consistent with long island dinners. Update, I just read other reviews, the burger with pulled pork and pineapple sounds fantastic. Will go back...
Read moreI know Sunday, especially during Thanksgiving weekend is busy. But this doesn't excuse common sense. I arrived first, before my small party of 4. I told the host ( probably the owner/manager), that I wanted a table for 4, but I'll wait for someone else first. After 2 of my friends showed up, we continued waiting as I saw other people, including a group of 3 come in and be seated right away. After speaking to the host about this, he said I needed the 4th person to show up. I said we would like to sit an order (common sense, they don't make tables for 3, because 3 people will still use a table for 4, it's a damn square) . When finally seated, our waieter came with such a bad attitude, I tried validating the I understood it's a busy day, but he was so rude, by making a snug face as he turned away. All of us were taken back by his direct disrespectful attitude. Never will we go there again, I'll go to the Forum Diner, they are so nice and will seat us, without needing every single person there. This Peter Pan is so overrated, and parking is limited. I have...
