roto all day cafe — Restaurant in Town of Islip

This morning started off terribly—I woke up to find my car gone from where it was legally parked on the side of the road. Without any notice, the town had it moved due to construction. I walked into Roto completely frantic, just hoping someone might know something, and the moment I stepped in, every single worker greeted me with kindness and genuine concern.

Not only did they help calm me down and try to assist, but the owner also offered me a free coffee to brighten my morning. What they didn’t know was that today also happens to be the birthday of a close friend I lost, so I was already feeling heavy. Their small act of generosity and compassion meant more than they could possibly know.

I came here because of all the positive reviews and seeing it numerous times on TikTok, but this was awful. I got an iced banana foster latte and an egg sandwich with avocado. My fiancé got a vanilla pistachio iced latte and an egg sandwich with sausage. The total was $47. That in itself is outrageous; but then to top it off it wasn’t even good. Plain and bland on hamburger buns and I kept sipping up chunks of something hard in my latte. Don’t waste your money. I will say everyone working was very friendly and nice and it’s a beautiful place but...

Great coffee and food. Very high end atmosphere from the decor, level of service and food quality. The egg sandwich was fantastic and a large portion, albeit expensive. The egg was fluffy, similar to a Japanese omelette, with flavorful cheese and a spicy green sauce. The sausage cost extra but was worth the addition, and the bun was soft and fresh. The vanilla pistachio latte was unique and well-sweetened. They had lots of options I’d gladly come back for....
