1 chicken gyro sub, 1 chicken over rice, 2 cokes. $40. Definitely overpriced. Not sure how it has a 4.4 rating. It was quite bland and didn’t have any taste again. Catered to just white people who don’t really enjoy spicy or flavorful food. But for the typical foodie who wants this good food, I wouldn’t come here. I think it’d be a good option if there wasn’t anything else open in the area. Has a lot of potential, but I guess it’s just one of the spots where they will get business regardless of the taste. The interior is nice yet confusing, Pakistani accent furniture mixed with contemporary furniture? But still points for that! But I would say put some effort into the place, have one set theme going on. Back the the food, it was fresh but really bland and the chicken gyro sub was a mess. Cut from both ends so the chicken was falling out the entire time. You are supposed to have the bread bottom & too attached from one side and only one side open.
The guy working there was nice though.
EDIT* (response to owners reply) I said Pakistani ACCENT FURNITURE. I was talking about the FURNITURE. Nothing about language!!! Please check what accent furniture is! I actually complimented it and just said it needs a little improvement but I love how it has Pakistani touch to it! Please re-read it and also about the spice and flavor, the name of the restaurant is literally SPICE Gyro & Kabob, so I was expecting some SPICE. Anyways, that response really showed how you treat any constructive criticism from your customers. Dropped another...
Read moreI'm very disappointed. I can't recommend this place to others based on the poor experience I had.
At first, several items from the menu were unavailable, and I ordered the lamb shawarma. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst shawarma I have ever tasted. The lamb meat had a texture like ground meat mixed with bread, fried, and then chopped into pieces. It resembled a cheap cutlet rather than real shawarma meat.
Secondly, I was deeply concerned about the excessive use of plastic. Whether customers chose to dine in or take food to go, everything was served in plastic containers with plastic utensils and packed in plastic bags. Certainly, this is not an eco-friendly place at all.
Probably, the other menu items could be more enjoyable. However, I didn't take the risk of returning to this place until they started serving food on normal plates and stopped compromising on meat quality...
Read moreAll in all, the food was fantastic. It's some great quality home cooking. The rice is loaded with ghee and the chana masala is SO flavorful. Believe it or not, the gyro (which is usually the safest option) was only so-so.
While I rarely mention value for money in my reviews, it's worth mentioning here. This is a hole-in-the-wall, take-out style, plastic-cutlery-only type of place. There are tables to eat your food, but you'll be eating it from styrofoam containers. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, the entrees were almost $30 each. We came with 8 people and paid almost $300 total. That's a lot of money when you consider there's no table service and you're eating outside of a gas station.
We'll be back for sure. If you're planning on making a trip, just keep in mind that the cost may be much higher than what you would expect from a...
