The food was great, as always. I love that it comes out fresh, as it's ready. It has the atmosphere of a "Japanese tapas" restaurant, if that's a thing.
My mother, sister and I were there for a little over an hour. We ate our fill, got to try some new things, and as always, it was delicious and right on point. I was nervous the first time I went, because I thought it was a buffet, being, "all you can eat". That idea of including raw fish, made me nervous. But I was unaware of how they do things. Its not a buffet. Which is awesome. They come regularly to clear the table, and inquire if you want more. But never in a pushy or judgemental way.
The staff was welcoming as always, and the food was fresh, perfectly hot or cold, depending on what we ordered. This was my 3rd visit, and I've never had a bad experience. Lunch is pretty quiet, which means no wait time, and again, the servers weren't at all pushy, or constantly hanging around.
The tables were clean, the bathrooms are clean, and when you walk in, the fish counter is the first thing you see/smell. It always smells of fresh fish (not a "fishy" smell, but you know youre in a sushi restaurant).
Love that the "itemized" receipt shows how much you order! As long as you don't blatantly waste food, you only pay the "all you can eat" price.
At my previous visit, I was given a roll the table didn't order... We (the table) tried it anyway, and it was not something we enjoyed (perfectly good, just not something that was something we would order based on our tastes). When the waitress came, I explained the mistake and she took it away without question or concern.
We will keep coming! The food is always fresh and amazing. I've never had an issue with any of the raw fish, which is my biggest concern in any restaurant...
Read moreWe live in Queensbury, NY – so the amount of amazing Asian food options around us is surprisingly impressive. It was only a matter of time before we ran into one that is very much unimpressive.
To start things off, the staff was cold and unwelcoming – I’ll chalk that up to the fact that our family is not small in stature, and this is an ‘all-you-can-eat’ establishment.
The portions are small, as some AYCE restaurants choose to operate (I don’t mind, it makes sense), the rolls are par for the course, with the exception of the avocados used to top things like Dragon Rolls. They are clearly the bagged kind, and have the consistency and flavor of thick paste. My partner got a fried rice dish, that was mostly onion chopped very small, some rice, and rubbery chicken that was inedible.
So we tried several small dishes and rolls, while my partner calculated the amount we ate versus price paid (it’s her thing) $30 for the AYCE (two of us), and the other two had a la carte as usual.
The moment we began to approach the per-person cost of the AYCE, the servers simply stopped coming to our table, I’ve never seen anything like it. We were just about done regardless (thinking about some ice cream for the hot day), but why on earth have all-you-can-eat as a theme, and then control the flow of food, and in such a rude and unprofessional manner?
Like, just have an Asian restaurant, people.
Long story short, we will just go back to the places that we enjoy already – Mikado, Sweet Rice, Zou Steakhouse, Siam Thai, Aroy Dee, Tokyo Steakhouse, Sushi Thai, Haru, Phila Fusion, Wasabi All-you-can-eat, etc. – and leave this poor place in the rearview mirror where it...
Read moreSat for 20 minutes with absolutely no service. Charged for three sodas (although we only had one). Food was mediocre at the absolute best, not to mention proportions that were fit for a toddler. Given loads of hassle about attempting to fix the mistakes made on our ticket. Servers were rather unfriendly and appeared to be inconvenienced by our patronage. The restaurant’s menu should not be presented with a sole “all you can eat” $40 per person rate when everything on the menu is brought out on Spanish Tapas sizes plates, not to mention there are no prices listed for any of the individual items shown on the menu. This place is a total tourist trap as they make you wait an absurd amount of time for service. “Entrees” would come out before Apps and Salads, and one or two people in our group were left waiting with no food for quite a while. Some of the other members of our party were going to order more, but we waited so long that we just said forget it and started to walk towards the register. By this time we were so done with the BS and ready to just leave that we just paid the ridiculous $80.00 bill and left without a “thank you” or a “have a goodnight”. We will not be returning to this establishment, and I’d recommend you not to as well. Not unless you enjoy handing over money just for a half-donkey experience; and as a forewarning, the sushi WILL make you feel...
