I don't even know where to begin. I always research everything I do or buy, so not sure why I didn't look into this "campground" before reserving a site. ||This is not camping AT ALL. If you've ever lived in the country/rural area, or have camped in a wooded/secluded/quiet area, you would know this "camping" is a joke. The campground is literally on a busy highway in the busiest touristy city of the Adirondacks. Like, literally traffic is going 45-55mph right past the tents on the edge of the campgrounds (which you can clearly see the campsites from the highway). How is that relaxing? How is that woodsy and nature? You can see the stores/gas station from within the campgrounds. Who actually reserves those sites and enjoys them?!||We stayed at site 58 which thank God was separated from other sites, however we were right next to the damn Conference Center!! What?!?! And even from our site, which you had to drive a hundred yards down, you could still see the gas station lights. Site 60 was closed for maintenance or something, I don't even know how miserable site 60 would be if it were open because that's next to the conference center dumpster and huge building fan and the water spigot that we had to use. Site 60's fire pit is literally next to the water spigot. So, how awkward if ppl have to get water if they're "relaxing" at the fire? ||Oh, the sites were disgusting!! Like small trash pieces everywhere. The picturesque crappy privacy fence (so we couldn't see the conference center eyeroll) we were next to was falling apart. ||The showers were nauseating with the mold covering everything. Do they not have fans? Hot steamy showers with no fans and they don't expect mold? Hair piled up on the drain. Barf. I was so grossed out. I wanted a shower after my shower. ||The crowds of people were disrespectful and loud each night we were there. It's 12:00am and you're still hollering and partying? Go find some secluded cabin and party there or stay at your frat house. Jerks. ||Since this campground is in the CITY of Lake George, you will hear the steamboats all day. Also, you hear the cannons or whatever the F it is booming and blasting here and there. Then, throughout the night, because you're at a city touristy campground on the highway you will be sure to hear drag racing all night long!! ||I seriously don't know who would consider this a good place for camping? People from urban areas like NYC or Detroit or LA? People that want to tour Lake George but don't want a hotel?||The worst. Not sure how this campground has as high of a review as it does. I've learned from my mistake, and I now research my campgrounds and also look on Google Earth to see if its actually out in a peaceful,...

This park has exactly two things going for it: 1) it’s super close to the village of Lake George. We walked to everything. Traffic and parking looked to be a nightmare in town. 2) it’s probably the cheapest place to stay on the south end of Lake George. Otherwise this is a pretty mediocre state park. There are very few RV sites and some with tight back-ins. The sites vary in size but most are small and close together. We stayed in site 34, which was a nice width, but not deep enough for the trailer and truck. 46 looked to be the best site for an RV. Arrive with full water tanks if possible. They have water around camp but no way to hook up a hose and the dump station spout is very suspect. The dump station also was closed due to over flowing by 10:30 AM on our Monday checkout. We went 10 miles south on 87 and paid $8 to dump at Moreau Lake State Park.
They are not very happy with people arriving after 9pm. We arrived at 11pm due to bad traffic and were promptly scolded. Sites are super tight to back into and are even tighter with cars parked close to camp roads. This was Friday of a holiday weekend, so this may not be normal. We ultimately just pulled straight into our site and then backed in the following morning. We asked a few cars to move temporarily so we could get backed in. Everyone was super nice and happy to help. Bathroom and showers were clean and front desk staff was super nice. AT&T signal was strong. Camped with a 29’ trail trailer. If you want a campground close to town and to experience all Lake George has to offer, then this is a great campground. This was our goal and we had a awesome time shopping in the village, rented a pontoon boat, road the steam boat, wine tasting for adults, arcade for kids, touring the fort, and visiting the local museum. We will be back...
Read moreThis camp ground fills up quickly! We used the online reservations to book a sight, we arrived a little after 10 pm even though the site says to be there by 9 at the latest. Work went over so we had to leave later than we wanted planned on. We pull into the camp ground and pulled in to the spot we have reserved. Shortly after we arrived, the 'warden' drove up in a truck, he was polite and VERY understanding. I gave him my name and told him how we had reserved the site, he was understanding, I offered my ID, and that sealed the deal for him. "I see Your name on the registry, You are fine." He hung out talked to us for at least half an hour. He was probably using us as an excuse to keep the office empty and see if anyone tries to sneak in for a free night. We were hanging out outside the tent on a different night, and the white van showed up two spots from us. The van emptied, like a clown car, these were clearly religious people, judging by the curly cues and the matching head dress. One guy jumped out with a grill in his hand, trying very hard to get a flame going. A couple others in that group ran across the street to the convenience store. Then while those men were gone, we watched a police car enter the campground and head STRAIGHT for the van. The guy with the grill quickly threw some food on the grill and blew on it really hard and it smoked like crazy. The officer got out and the 'warden' showed up, the conversation was quiet, as it was after 10:30 and 10 is the quiet hour. The guys from the van cross back and while crossing, someone yelled out, "F*cking J3WS" I felt so bad for them, up to that moment I thought all New Yorkers' were sweet as candy, but their ignorance that day...
