L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Town of Le Ray

Family just got to this area after a long road trip and wanted something other than fried greasy fast food. They seem to be renovating their restaurant so they were only doing take-outs. Price is reasonably good for the portion and the quality. Food was made fresh to order. Only con for me was the rice. Too much water, made it soggy. Staff was friendly and shop was nice and clean, they also own the mini asian grocer nxt door. We ordered L&L Combo w/ bbq chicken, spam saimin, chicken katsu. All were good. Saimin had that actual saimin taste to it like frm da island kine taste. The keikis loved the katsu, crunchy and tasty. That sauce that it came with wasn't overly tangy (some katsu sauce has that weird tang and after taste, but not this one). Unfortunately, i forgot to take pix before we devoured the food. Would like to try their loco moco...

omg, STAY AWAY FROM THIS L&L here in Evans Mills. This is the second time in a long time that I went there and THEY BURNT MY CHICKEN. how can you eat food that BURNT BLACK! SMH at the cook, the first time I went the food that I got was burnt and also was missing most of the meat that is supposed to be a part of the bbq mixed plate. I dont like to waste money on bad service and to drive over there to pick up the food is a waste of gas if that's the food I'm getting. smh the cashier is friendly but man the COOK dont know HOW TO COOK but they sure know how to BURN the food the least they could do is replace the burnt meat but no they still put it in my plate. Never again, I've wasted money good bye L&L Evan Mills! Either FIRE the COOK or close please! This would've been NO STARS but how can I warn people not to waste their money but...

I’m giving this restaurant two stars because the food I received was good, but it was not what I ordered. I ordered over the phone and the conversation between myself and the staff was confusing from the start. The woman on the phone wasn’t understanding what I was saying and then said to me I’m sorry my brain is slow today. Well at the end of the conversation I had the feeling she didn’t input my order correctly. When I got the store I opened my order to make sure it was what I wanted and it was wrong. When I confronted the her about it not being what I ordered she said yes it is. We went back and forth and I finally said I don’t want this I want what I ordered and she said why would I take this back and get you what you wanted when your food is right there.
