Dear Jersey Mike's, I'M SORRY! I ordered a sandwich online for pickup on a Friday at lunchtime. When I came in I immediately saw that you were absolutely SLAMMED!!! There were at least 7 people in line to order and 6 more of us waiting to pick up an order, but your staff was working their TAILS OFF! The manager, who was on the phone and computer at a table by the door, saw me walk in, hesitate when my order wasn't ready, and then turn around to leave. He interrupted his phone call, stopped me to ask what was wrong, then ended his phone call to devote attention to the customers. "Thank you everyone for your patience," he said in a loud voice, "We are working hard for you, had a very large catering order this morning, and will get to your orders and go-orders, as soon as we can!" Then he dove in to help, business attire and all! He mentioned to one of the staff that I was waiting for a to-go order and I said, "That's okay. There are other people in front of me. Take care of them," and I left. I wasn't upset, I just simply couldn't stay. AND I APOLOGIZE FOR LEAVING! I APOLOGIZE TO THE STAFF, THE OTHER CUSTOMERS, AND THE MANAGER that I could not stay and wait for my sandwich. I MEANT NO DISRESPECT TO ANY OF YOU! I could see how hard the employees were working. I could see how patient the customers were. I could see the attention the manager was giving to his staff and customers and how much all the employees cared about everyone in that building. THANK YOU ALL!!! Making MY sandwich, meant taking that team away from making someone else's sandwich. I'm sorry if that caused anyone to be late or feel rushed. I'm sorry if my leaving gave the impression that I was more important than any of you in that store that day. I am not. I'm sorry if my actions made anyone think I was upset with the situation. I was not. Not only am I apologizing to all of you through this review, I also called the store and personally apologized and will return to the store this evening to do so again in person. Every establishment has unplanned circumstances that they deal with everyday. Whether it's a staffing shortage, an unexpected rush, or a jerk like me who can't wait for their sandwich. Thank you so much for your hard work, Jersey Mike's Newburgh employees. It's so easy to forget that the service industries like fast-casual food are here, not to cater to our whims, but to actually provide a service. Where would we be without you? Thank you again. I apologize again. You are appreciated!!! Keep up the fine work! To everyone who reads this review, please go to Jersey Mike's in Newburgh! They work hard and deserve...
Read moreI ordered through the app and came here for pick up. I've never had Jersey Mikes, but I know a lot of people have said it's really good. I ended up trying it out and getting the new Philly sub special. When I came into the place to pick up my order, no one was at the front. Both employees near the station did see me, but no one came over. I had to wait a bit until the manager actually saw me standing there, then told for one of the employees and to attend to me.
I came about 2-3 minutes early of my pick up time. I was told that the full order wasn't ready, but would be soon. There was a line of customers who were getting their subs made, while I waited for the order I placed 20-30 minutes prior. Cool, I guess.
I ended up waiting for almost 15-20 minutes more before they finished the rest of my order and gave it to me. By then, it was about 2-3 other people also behind me, waiting for pick up orders. None of our orders were marked as well, so we had to take apart each sandwich to figure out whose was who's.
The meat was a (little) salty but outside of that, it was a good portion and size. I wouldn't say I was stuffed, but it was filling for a normal sub (It wasn't the foot long). The bread was soft and tasted fresh. All in all, the sandwich was good and I would give it a solid 7.5/10.
I would say, the customer service could improve a lot. I'm not sure if they're understaffed and overwhelmed, which I guess would be understandable. All in all, from the experience and food I would give this a 3.5/5. I will say the manager was very friendly and helpful, kudos to you sir.
Given that, I’m unsure if I...
Read moreThe Jersey Mike’s chain is great. Good sandwiches made fresh from deli-sliced meats. The staff in almost every location are competent and capable, but just as important…. friendly and eager to please.
This location is the exception. While some staff are friendly, others are less than. Virtually all of them seem like they’re lost or confused. Orders are frequently wrong. Online orders are often not ready until well after their pickup time. And if your sandwich has oil & vinegar on it, you can bet it will be soaked to the point of soggy bread that falls apart when you pick it up.
Normally I’d chalk their issues up to being new. But they’ve been open for almost a year now and nothing has gotten better. Overall, I’d recommend getting sandwiches elsewhere.
UPDATED 1 YEAR LATER: Still less than mediocre. Unless you’re dining in or watching them make your order, there’s a 90% chance they will get your order wrong. And if you are picking up an online order, there’s a nice big shelf where you can walk in and pick up with no contact. But…. they never use it. They prep to go orders and leave them all behind the counter for reasons unknown. This place just isn’t good. Drive the 20 mins to the Middletown location. It’s 10...
