Well I was disappointed the beans definitely was burnt and they tried to salvage them. The TOSTONES was dry did not taste fresh with the crunch they tasted frozen FYI frozen plantains are very dry. I have sat at many Hispanic Mothers tables growing up and I know who ever was in the kitchen skipped on the flavors and Quality of the food I have been home not feeling well and she wanted to give her parents something special and it’s disappointing the food wasn’t true to it’s culture.. Do not know any other words for this place except totally comfort food, exactly what I remember eating when my mother & grandfather cooked home cooking!! Five of us went in ordered from extra friendly ladies who filled up my plate with the best food and enjoyed it very much! I asked if they cook it & she said yes, all I could say was thank you. All the love was in the food and the pasteles were excellent! People were coming in picking up food, some sat down ate and left, we sat and tasted every forkful and more people came in picked up. Anyone that disagrees talk to all of us who love the food and don't come in before closing or expecting to be waited on. Just sit and enjoy like people are supposed to appreciate good food. I have been getting food from this location for nearly three years... This location has been under new management for over a year now and since then the food doesn't taste as good the portions are incredibly small... My medium beef stew consisted of 4 pieces of tough beef 2 small pieces of potatoes one piece of carrot... My rice was mushy and overcooked.... Sometimes the rice and gandules have gandules in it sometimes it don't... They are constantly out of something and offer no substitute or other options when they tell you they don't have something...
