This company has literally been life-changing for me. I stumbled into having them on my radar after attending a charity event in Hartford where Harney & Sons' African Autumn was served. Never had I had such a rich, buttery herbal tea. I ordered some. Years later I was looking for quality Darjeeling for my tea-loving hubby, and again found it online at Harney.com. With their no minimum free shipping I sent hubby an Easter gift to his hotel to cheer him on his long-term work assignment in another state. Harney sent me an email asking if I'd tried their hemp collection--here's the life-changing part!
I've been using CBD oil to lower my blood pressure. It was working fine at $70 a month for the good stuff. So I thought: hemp, CBD, LET's try it. I ordered the six-tin hemp collection.
I started with Center, a blend of an herbal called Yerba Mate with a cinnamon tea. I hadn't taken my CBD that morning. Drank a half cup of the Yerba Mate. Casually did my ritual BP check. It lowered it 30 points! 112/73. 20 points lower than the CBD. HALF A CUP OF TEA! I ordered a pound of the the loose leaf Yerba Mate for $22. At half a cup a day that's about $22 a YEAR! I have been drinking my Yerba Mate daily and it maintains BP at low levels. If I'm stressed I drink a whole cup.
It's hard to put into words how thankful I am.
I am now buying lots of new teas--green, black, herbal, and tea for hot and iced enjoyment. I am a customer for life--which looks like it may be longer due to the amazing benefits of tea. I'm also learning from Dr William Li more about health and tea on You Tube sponsored by Michael Harney.
Thank you God for this wonderful company and the natural health...
Read moreI’ve been a long time customer and in the past have enjoyed visits to shop. Tasted teas and bought loose leaf tea. Had lunch in the cafe. That was not our experience on this visit.
We visited the Millerton store on 6/19/25 about 10:30 am. The area where the loose leaf tea was sold and tasting happens had been blocked off. The person at the cash register said “we only do tastings on the weekend”.
It was disappointing but wasn’t anyone going to service purchase of loose leaf tea? “Just tells us what you want and we’ll get it. The tone seemed dismissive.
I thought the whole purpose of going there was to see what other teas we might like. They have two walls of tea canisters. In the past suggestions were made you were allowed to see the tea in the canister, smell it. In the past there were pleasant people manning this area “if you like this, you might also like this” type suggestions. There were at least 4 different employees. It seemed like it wasn’t unreasonable to think there might be someone to service the loose tea area for purchases.
That was not happening on the morning of June 19. We bought a small can of sachets. Three women had come in by then and convinced them to do a tasting. The girl at the cash register said “ I guess we are doing tasting today”. By then we’d experienced enough unfriendly attitude to sour our visit.
I doubt we’ll ever take the time to visit the tea room again. It is more of a destination than a place we normally pass by. We were so bummed out we didn’t even check out the stores in the town as we had during...
Read moreBeautiful place with very helpful staff. I am very disappointed with my tea purchases however, I purchased two and a half pounds of loose tea and when I got them home I was super excited to try them and open them up only to find that they were ground up like coffee, loose tea is not meant to be ground up like coffee it loses all the good stuff for a little bit of flavor not what I was looking for at all. Spent over $100 and now I'm stuck with tea bag quality tea instead of loose tea leaves like I thought I was buying 😞😞 also I drove over two hours to check this place out 😕 the tea that I purchased is more like dust or ground coffee than any loose tea I have ever purchased! I wish I could attach a picture so that I could show you exactly what I'm talking about because I just made two different pots of tea and the difference in the leaves would blow your mind. I can't even express how disappointed I really am with this tea dust that I purchased from here! 😔 If I wanted to buy tea bags I would have went to the grocery store not to a tea shop asking for loose tea. at least then they would have been in bags and it wouldn't be freaking leaking out of my...
