Saw this place on tv and decided what the hell why not it looked very appetizing. So I had the Red Label with the parmesan truffle fries. My daughter saw on tv and had to have the mac and cheese burger which is called the Yellow Label and she had it with cheese fries. Both burgers were asked to be the Dry Aged beef. Individuals on tv were the people in the restaurant. Smiles for miles. Friendly and outgoing. Establishment from inside to outside was very clean including the bathrooms, which I let my daughter go in by herself since it was a one person female restroom at a time as well was the mens bathroom. I asked for any of their suggestions for my dining experience and only thing left was to try at another visit was their hot dogs because they were Wagyu dogs......"not a problem, next time for certain". Given our number and reciept to go grab a booth and our meals would be brought out to us.....one of the owners served us quite quickly. Cutting into burgers they were cooked just as requested medium rare......PERFECT ! Burger for my daughter was pretty big and even for cutting it in half and squeezing it down a bit she still had a bit of a difficult time taking a bite. She didn't care for fried mac n' cheese patty on top and had it without. Shockingly enough the burger at that point was basically a patty and bun only. My daughter puts ketchup in all burgers and she didn't on this one which was a surprise and loved the burger without cheese and condiments. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger, presentation, recommendation of the fries which were fresh and hot. Truffle and parmesan was a great taste. The dry aged meat is for sure present in the taste of every bite ! Looking forward to going back again to try the rest of their menu since their was no room in the stomach since we left with full belly's...
Read moreWell if I had 2 words to describe this place it would phe nomenal! They pretty much knock it out of the park with these wholesome juicy morsels! They are are so very flavorful, succulent and are clearly 100% USDA beef certifiably good eats! I heard about this place from Sammy who runs Café Gino a few minutes away on Post Avenue, he told me I have to check out his sons new joint, so of course the very next day I'm here w wifey,it's the old Friendly's and the renovation they did is just incredible! Great lighting, ample super comfortable booth seating a few flatscreen's and and just excellent customer service, but down to the nitty-gritty, the burgers, there's a lot of burger places popping up throughout but this is not just your average burger joint, when I first took a bite into my original black label burger it tasted on par to a Peter Lugar's burger for a quarter of the price, it's actually the first time I didn't have to put ketchup on my burger for it to taste good, the juices of the meat were flowing and everything from the quality of the beef, to the bun, to the fresh lettuce, tomato and onions, OK I'm spent, now onto the truffle fries,,.. truffle heaven! And the perfect amount of Parmesan cheese it's a winner! Not to mention the fact you did not see any oil in the bag presentation it was served in! Outstanding ,My meal was paired with the South Hampton double white brew and it was delicious! I love how they have popular Long Island Brews all on tap, and also offer you a sample to see if you like it , in conclusion if you haven't checked out black label burgers you're missing out! The place is great for date night, family night or just good friends to enjoy a delicious juicy quality burger and beer W friendly quick service in a...
Read moreI had originally given this 4 stars, but they lost a star on a recent visit by automatically upgrading our burgers to Dry-Aged Beef, a $2 upcharge per burger. Had I been paying attention that she was upcharging us, I would have asked for it to be removed, as it's lost on their Blue Label Burger.
The Black Label is your standard cheeseburger. This might be their only burger where I'd recommend upgrading to dry-aged beef. It's tasty, it's simple, and on a potato bun it's perfect.
All you'll taste on the Blue Label is blue cheese. It's tasty, but dry-aged beef doesn't change the intensity or tenderness of the melted blue cheese. And there's enough blue cheese that it'll be dripping off the burger. I'd call it the None More Blue Burger.
The Yellow Label is good, especially if you love cheese. It's a nice mix of beef and mac n cheese. It's a gluttonous paradise, and reminds me of something I'd made in college after an evening at the bar.
The White Label is a bit light on caramelized onions and mushrooms, but the flavor is there. And the flavor profile is probably my favorite, so far, of their more complex offerings. There's enough Swiss to make this burger a messy endeavor.
The sweet potato fries are extra sweet with the addition of marshmallows. A bit too sweet for me.
The truffle fries with parmesan were nice, and pretty much what you expect from truffle fries.
The cheesy fries are definitely cheesy. You'll possibly need a bath after finishing them off. Can't go wrong with cheesy fries.
I really like Black Label Burgers, but avoid upgrading to dry-aged beef on all but their Black Label Burger. And definitely get the...
