I came here tonight at my daughters request to celebrate her birthday with family and friends. The atmosphere was wonderful as was the food. I had three different types of wine—Pinot noir, Sangiovese, and Cabernet. They all tasted exactly the same. Bitter & stale. In defense of the restaurant, I did not directly complain because I didn’t want to spoil the night for my daughter. (After we left the restaurant, I discovered that both my daughter and another one in our party had the same opinion of the wines and they all each had a different red wine just like I did.) The biggest disappointment and frustration came when it was time to pay the ticket. Each of us in the party of eight ordered food, appetizers, and drinks so the ticket was pretty expensive which we were prepared to pay. When we asked for the ticket to be split, our server audibly sighed and said it “would take a minute to do that.” Then another person in our party decided to pick up the ticket for two other people in our party, she again audibly sighed and showed her displeasure. Then she promptly went to the cash register and very loudly expressed her displeasure at having to split tickets. Gratuity was already added into the ticket. Normally if the service is good and the food is good, I will add even more on top of the gratuity but not this time. I’ve been to Taverna, Botticelli‘s, snd Vespio and I never had an experience like I had tonight. Very...
Read moreim an Italian boy who loves Italian food, but there's a problem when you go someplace and no one in the restaurant speak or understands Italian, how can the food be any more interesting, Italian American friends recommended the joint and since this encounter i don't respect their word, the service is horrible, insolent to your presence when they are at your table (which is not often). they are incredibly rude and bad food just made the night a total misery.upon asking the waiter to switch the pasta preference to ziti from spaghetti it became aparent that i was not going to have it my way. proceeded to try to enjoy the microwaved leather shoe they served as my entree, you would need a samurai sword to cut it, i made the best of a bad situation,Late that evening I woke up with vomiting, chills, cramps, and worse --Montezuma's revenge at best. i was always astonished to see there were no real Italians dining here when speaking to the maitre d in Romano, he looked at me like i was a kurd to his russian. , the general clientele were predominantly Sephardic eastern European and waspy white

Read moreI am really disappointed, I’ve been going to this restaurant ever since they opened in 2005. My father has been close friends with Hector (one of the mangers) before he even started working at Cippolini. I must say the service has been excellent every single time I’ve gone with my family, but today I went with my girlfriend and it was a completely different story. The waiters dropped our cutlery and plates on the table in a disrespectful way. A way I’ve never experienced before. Not a single waiter refilled our glasses throughout the entire meal. I purposely finished my drink and placed it down when they were around but nobody seemed to know how to do their job today. I gave them multiple chances to redeems themselves but they just stood around and spoke to each other. Hopefully they’ll do better after I gave them the tip they deserved. It was very disappointing to see that they do not treat every customer with the respect and dignity that is expected from...
