If you are looking for a restaurant that is upscale, sophisticated, gorgeous and with fabulous food, than look no further than PRIME 1024 in Roslyn, NY. When I first walked in, I could not imagine how beautiful the interior of PRIME 1024 actually is. With beautiful chandeliers that enhanced the mural of the wine caskets on the wall, made them come to life. The restaurant is spacious and very bright. The banquettes are so cozy, and would be perfect for a romantic dinner or to celebrate a glorious event. The staff is just lovely, from the hostess, the manager and the server. Everyone was lovely and the service was impeccable.
The server told us about the cocktail specials. Ordered was the Negroni (a classic Italian cocktail made with gin, vermouth, Campari and an orange peel). This was an elegant drink that was beautiful to look at and the taste was glorious. A Cucumber Martini was not only stunning to look at, but was delicious. On the table was toasted sourdough bread with a very fine quality olive oil for dipping. The selection of starters was diverse and hard to choose from. The crab cake served with spicy sriracha mayo was wonderful. Packed with fresh crab, this was one of the best crab cakes I ever had. The sea scallops in a lemon wine sauce, were succulent. They were cooked perfectly and were spot on. The Linguine Alle Vongole was just fantastic. The clams were fresh and juicy, everything that you could want in this dish was there. To pick an entree was so difficult. I knew any meat dish would be fabulous and would definitely would do justice to my palate. I chose the veal chop on the bone. This piece of meat was prepared brilliantly. Perfectly cooked to medium, this piece of veal was juicy and seasoned perfectly. When you cook a fabulous piece of meat like this, it must be recognized for the fine quality dining that this was. The brussel sprouts were fried to a perfect crisp. The NY cheesecake was delicious. The Apple Tart was over the top. The Apple Tart was filled with a wonderful almond paste that I had never had with an apple dessert before. What a wonderful combination of flavors. From start to finish, this was a magical meal.
I fell in love with PRIME 1024. Between the ambiance of this magnificent restaurant, to the fine dining, remarkable cocktails and to the first class service. This is a restaurant I would definitely revisit. I would come back for their Happy Hour, a celebration or to just have a fabulous dining experience. Don't miss out on PRIME 1024, located in the heart...
Read moreEXTREMELY disappointed... I was looking for a delicious, celebratory meal and it just didn't happen here. I really wanted to love this place. First, I made this reservation a month ago, then a few days prior to date, I called the restaurant and requested the hostess to seat us inside due to the inclement weather forecasted. To which she agreed, and proceeded to ask us what was the occasion. After confirming an indoor table, I was greeted upon my arrival to a table outside because they can’t seat two people inside even though there were over 6 empty tables (meanwhile it is pouring, 55 degrees, and oh yes, the “heating lamp” aka, a plug and play floor heater wouldn’t power up.) Next is the staff. While they seem motivated enough, there is a decided language gap. There is little to no communication and it was evidently clear that they were forgetting to bring out food to certain tables while bringing out the wrong food to other tables. After the heating lamp debacle, we were moved to another table on the patio 20 mins later, then we finally got to ordering our drinks while we were served cold bread, that took another 20-25 mins to arrive. For starters we ordered the calamari and grilled octopus (which was woefully undercooked). Then we got the halibut and steak (unsalted and dry), for sides we ordered mushrooms, which came while we were almost through with our meal. If you weren't hungry, it would actually be funny. Bad business. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area that would’ve happily seated us if you couldn’t accommodate. The restaurant’s décor is beautiful, and the staff is attentive and welcoming, the food however is mediocre and the pace needs improvement.
I have to say I did share my displeasure with our server, who bought us two glasses of wine (thank you Juman). He apologized and asked if we returned to ask for him. In that area with the surrounding restaurants like Limani, Il Mulino and Bryant & Cooper you have to impress. Nice ambiance but would...
Read moreKnowing that it’s the owners of Limani which always has great food and great service I had a bit more expectations. First impressions are everything and it really disappointed. It started off great. The place is nice, the drinks were good, appetizers were tasty. We ordered the porterhouse for two- medium. When the server brought the steak on the big plate he just set it down and said nothing. I went to serve my wife and my fingers touched the plate and I got burned. That was really annoying. They need to let you know when there is a hot plate being set out. The steak was cooked more medium rare, which is fine except the middle was cold. We tried eating a few pieces but were annoyed at the cold interior. We asked the server to please just put it back for a few seconds to heat up and she accommodated. However, we knew it would overcook the steak a bit. It was fine. What annoyed us the most was how the manager handled the whole situation. He seemed like a young inexperienced man who just came over to us and asked us if we were ok after dinner. I explained the situation to him and just told him to make sure his servers announce when hot plates are being set down and told him I was fine. He said ok so you’re sure your not burned and then left. Dude, that felt wrong. Offer us a drink or some dessert on the house at least. What was your point? Even the waiter who came back at the end was shocked at how the manager handled everything. Very lax and very inexperienced. Don’t know if we would...
