Werner's Deli Co — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I love Werner's. Back when we first moved to the area me and my boyfriend would go often. The food was always great and the owners extremely friendly. We stopped going as often over time, and it got to the point where we hadn't been there for at least a couple of years. Yet still we walked in today, and the owner still recognized us and was just as friendly as we remembered, and the food was just as good. I regret that we stopped going for so long. Love this place, and I will always highly recommend it to everyone.

Update 2/10/22: Werner's is still amazing. They've survived the worst parts of the pandemic for good reason. If you haven't been here yet you should fix that...

Around 1970 or so, there were two delis on Jericho Turnpike, Johnny’s and Werner’s. (honorable mention to Ardito’s, which is still there and apparently still owned by the Ardito’s). I noticed Werner’s was still there. Werner must be about 100 years old by now. When I checked it out I learned Werner’s isn’t really Werner’s anymore. I read a review that said the new owners would have made Werner proud. I have to agree. A little less emphasis on salads and catering, but great selection of specialty sandwiches, excellent fresh bread and rolls, and...

It's clean and still has DECENT quality food, but drom what I have heard and seen the store has changed hands, and now the past owner only comes in about one day a week to check up on things. Good portions; is it as good as when I was in high school? I don't think so and...
