Yesterday's Diner — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Horrible service. I used to come here every week. Then they added a "cash discount" however they did not do this in a legal way. The prices on the menu according to the law have to reflect what you would pay and the discount incentive be discounted after. It is not a discount it is a surcharge and is brought on AFTER you bring your check yo. So your check may say ten dollars and then without warning after your meal they will raise it by a buck or two for using a card. I even let that go but yesterday I went there and even though their menu says free refills on sodas and iced tea I was charged for each iced tea. I had one expecting the 2.75 price listed. While on the phone the waiter comes and refills the cul without saying anything. The receipt comes and they charged 3.50 for one unsweetened iced tea. I brought up that it looked wrong. After the the terrible service the manager goes oh yeah that doesn't look righ . And probably the worst employee there(I've had them all in the past) tell my waiter that it is wrong and they do not give refills on the iced tea. (All this without saying anything tot he customer). The black haired waitress tells the new waiter to add another three fifty to my bill. So now we are at 7 dollars for an iced and a refill I ddint request. Then they added the surcharge. I paid 26.50 for a burger and two iced teas. Never eating here again. I'm also reporting them to the better business bureau for bait and switch pricesike on their soft drinks. As well as the...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH A VERY RUDE STAFF! I order a cheeseburger with fries from them online, go to pick up my order, get home and notice no cheese. I call them up explain the situation they make it seem like it's the biggest deal in the world, putting me on hold , consulting the manager, etc. No apologies, no nothing. Instead they argued with me telling me the burger doesn't come with cheese , I tell them online their menu clearly shows it does. The managers response..." that's not our fault that whoever did the menu online made the mistake". I say " but what am I supposed to do I ordered a cheeseburger from your menu it clearly says it comes with cheese it's not my fault". Managers response..."it's not our fault either. We can't make you a new burger but if you bring the first one back well add cheese to it." Really ?? You can't just make me a new hot burger and make the customer happy since it was clearly YOUR mistake. Instead you want me to drive 20 minutes back and forth to eat a cold burger in the end. And you have to argue with me back and forth for 10 minutes. All this for a burger?? Incredible. Just a disgusting and rude staff altogether. Don't trust their menus . They will change prices when you pick up the order and claim no responsibility whatsoever. Very...

Food poor to awful. Very bad service. Had to ask for the check 4 times, even most of my party leaving didn’t ring a bell with the clueless staff.

When the check finally arrived I got a big surprise; the check arrived in a folder (even though payment is at the register) on the right side was a handwritten check on the left was a notice that the “Menu prices are discounted 3.99% for cash”. Neither my daughter nor myself saw any notice walking in. We would have gone back to the car and driven to somewhere else. No where on the menu was this “DISCOUNT” noted and apparently the is a 3.99% discount on sales tax for cash too. A surcharge of $2.14 was added to my check. The cashier, I believe to be one of the owners, showed me the same statement that was in the folder by the register. I explained that was after we received our check. He told me, “So pay in cash”. When I told him I didn’t have $60.00 the check plus the tip. He told me “Then you shouldn’t go out to eat”. What a rude and obnoxious person.

I am going to report them to my credit car company and to NYS Sales Tax as Sales Tax cannot be “discounted “. My guess is he and his partners are skimming cash out of the register. I hope Sales Tax...
