We've been there a lot. Had the long time waiter, John, on many occasions. This past Friday we took my father-in-law and sister-in-law for dinner, and John gave us the most hideous service. We got out drinks, and then nothing for about 20 minutes. I looked for John, and he came over a few minutes later and said "I saw you looking for me - is there something you need?" I said that we were ready to order (yes, after 20 minutes). He snapped to attention and took our orders, plus another drink order, which he had failed to do before. Apps came after 25 minutes - nothing that needed cooking. John never asked if we were okay or needed more drinks. After 30 minutes of absolutely no service, my sil asked him if our food was close to being done. He came back and said it was on its way to us. Ten minutes later we finally got our meal. After he put the plates down he stepped back and asked if there was anything else he could do for us. We said we were okay right then. He never came back to our table - not to ask if we needed drinks or if the food was okay. But he spent most of the time we were eating talking to ALL the other tables in the room. Twenty minutes after we finished eating we had to call him over for a package for my leftovers. He plopped a container on the table and walked away. Ten minutes after that we had to call him over for our check. No "how was your dinner", no "care for any coffee or dessert". Just plopped the bill down on the table. I wonder if telling him we were ready to order upset his sensibilities, and if it did, TFB. We sat at 7, ate at 8:15, and my father-in-law needed to take medicine AFTER his food. If John was insulted, how do you think we felt? And if he's questioning a 12% tip, he should think about how quickly he judged us to be trash or something and gave us the worst service we've had since - well, I don't think we've ever been treated that way. And we usually leave over 20%. But next time we go there we will specifically ask for a...
Read moreAs someone fairly used to the fact that i am "discriminated" against for being younger than most shopping at expensive stores, this was the first time it carried over to a restraunt. Our waitress was BEYOND rude and seemed as though she wanted nothing to do with our table. She made no effort to check on us, every time we asked her for something she acted as though we were bothering her, and made any iteraction she had to have with us as short and concise as possible. One might think it was because it was busy, but after watching her interact with her other tables i can assure you this was not the case. My composure most certainly was not an issue as you may think due to my age as i have eaten at my fair share of michalin restraunts and alike. The worse in all of this is in an attempt to make the manager aware of the situation i was brought into a room where the manager was sitting on her phone doing nothing. Then after making management aware of the situation she too seemed as though she didnt mind much ;though she did apoligize she made no effort to reconcile the situation. The bus/run staff were the only people polite and decent to us. On a $130 dinner for 2, I would expect far more in terms of quality of service. If you are young, or just dont believe that people should be treated differently, i would highly advise NEVER GO TO LOUIE'S ON THE AVENUE. There are dozens of other restruants i can think of within a 10 mile radius of the same caliber (if not better) where you are greated with a smile, waited on hand and foot, and your opinikns are truely considered and...
Read moreWent for Mother's day dinner. Reservation 6:30pm. Restaurant was clearly understaffed. Many food items were not available. Dinner was served at 8pm. Looked like dinners were plated by a child. Meat was raw. Potato 2.5 INCHES. Waitress spent more time chatting than serving. Kitchen was out of bread, butter, prime rib, potatoes. Manager took raw meat from table and returned it blackened. Entire plate was returned to Kitchen. Waitress said they were removing it from check due to All the inconveniences. Except $50 prime rib was included and they were out of it. Error? Absolutely, but a restaurant that has been in business for 40 years should be well prepared for a holiday as well as have polished employees. The manager could have salvaged the evening by addressing our numerous disappointments. Reheating filet mignon and placing a bowl of FRENCH FRIES on our table was comical. The Owner should be embarrassed that his once topnotch restaurant is nothing short...
