It's truly a Rockland experience picking up a catered order from Munno's on Christmas Eve day. I never did it before; so when I pre-ordered a week before to pick up, I figured I would just walk in, grab it, pay and go. I called before noon to make sure it was ready and it was, so I drive over and I'm seeing this long line outside their door with two guys at a table with paper and pens and to me it looked like they were registering people for something. Must've been something good since why else would people stand outside in single digit weather! I parked, and walked inside to another long line and I sensed something was up as all the people ahead of me on this line held a small piece of torn paper, on it a name and number. I asked if this was the line to pick up a pre-order. I was told to go outside to get a number. For a pre-order? Yeesh! So I do that. The line outside has grown and now I'm in the back of it, and it's 12 degrees now with an occasional gust of wind. One guy was in shorts. Another in just a sweat shirt. Who knew about this process, about the lines? But the saving grace and a classy move which put a smile on my face was when one of the staff walked the line offering freshly cut up stromboli...oh man, that was good! And I ended up buying one as I handed in my number to finally pick up my two trays of pre-ordered Eggplant Parmigiano from Munno's in Pearl River on Christmas Eve day! Truly, a...

Ok, now the meat and potatoes of my review. I live in Staten Island and there is no shortage of good food. And while I don’t come to pearl River specifically to visit Munnos, my dad always asks that I go there for our lunch.
This last weekend I got a chicken cutlet parm hero, he got tuna on a seeded hero with extra mayo. Odd choice for an Italian sandwich shop, but pop is old and I don’t scoff at anything he does anymore. While he was eating I did something I never do, I asked for a bite. Now I haven’t had tuna fish in over 30 years. He cut me a small piece and passed it over to my plate.
Now I need to say, that food is the one thing families have come together over and have since the beginning of time. Back in 2022 we lost mom. When I took a bite of that tuna sandwich, I was immediately transported back to 9 years old eating mom’s tuna. In short…thank you for causing some of the happiest tears I’ve had in a long time and for the trip back in time with a simple and delicious tuna sandwich. It’s just how mom used to make, which is no easy...

Only meat ball ove ever had that were loke my grandmas. There sauces are awsom . I dont like eggplant parm but actually enjoy there's. Prices are very reasonable for the amount and the high quality of the food. I kinda wish i lived closer but maybe its better i dont . I would be there to much. Best vodka sauce by far anywhere. Service is great . Small place but its always packed but line moves fast . Sometimes there's 6 guys behind the counter taking care of people. They hustle. Foods always fresh .anytime im there i see fresh hot food being restocked. Nothing sits long there. Ill bet any hot food you see is gone within an hour or two . Cant praise them enough.
