McDonald's — Restaurant in Town of Owego

Genuinely perplexed how they managed to take nearly 40 minutes to assemble my 2-item order and still somehow managed to serve me lukewarm nuggets and fries that were burnt, cold, and stale all at once. I was one of two people in line when I arrived, with no one in the lobby.

Inside is frequently dirty, always multiple menu items unavailable, parking every order regardless of size which only slows the process down. Staff seems to be poorly directed by incompetent management.

Update 6/18: Stopped by tonight to pick up my mobile order. I was the only person in the drive thru. Took 15 minutes for someone to even be able to answer the speaker box, at which point the employee informed me there were only two people working. It was another 15 minutes at the window before I received my order. I want to be very clear, I DO NOT blame the workers for this. I've worked fast food and other food service jobs and I know it's physically impossible for two people to keep up with all the work and customer demands. If I hadn't already ordered, I would've left to make their jobs easier, but as there's no way to cancel an order for a refund, I was stuck. The girl working the window the past couple times I've stopped by is always super nice and I felt genuinely bad for adding more work to everyone's shift. You have to wonder what management is (or isn't) doing that this seems to be a routine occurrence at this location. I hope the employees working tonight are eventually able to move onto jobs where their efforts are valued and they're shown respect by their employers and customers alike, they're doing the best they can with what management is giving them for little...

My worst McDonald’s experience in years:

The bathroom was extremely dirty, and the trash was overflowing. In one of the stalls, there was no toilet paper, and nothing had been restocked. The staff was incredibly rude. We waited for more than ten minutes just for a coffee. No one was attending the counter, and when we finally got our order, they messed up the coffee twice. • The first time, they added sugar by mistake, and even after correcting it, they gave us sugar again. 😳 • In the end, the coffee tasted like 80% water, 2% milk, and barely any coffee at all—it was like drinking cold boiled water. Since this location was on our way to Canada, and we were already back on the highway, it wasn’t possible to return and complain. Plus, the final coffee was served to us by the manager. Even if we had gone back, it wouldn’t have mattered, as it seemed he purposely gave us watered-down coffee because we had already complained.

It’s no surprise this location has a 3-star rating on Google. I hope a higher-up will take action.

It’s not about the money we spent or the fact that everything ended up in the trash—what matters is their terrible attitude, which upset all of us and wasted our time. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I wish I could give them 0 star, even one star is too much for them! I will be following up on this matter very seriously. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD! I used to use this McDonald's every time I traveled from SC to Owego I'd stop here for breakfast. Done it for the past 6 yrs. I just traveled north again from SC on 8/17/24. The MORNING of 8/18/24 myself and my 77 yr old father went here for breakfast like we always do when traveling. We walked inside, and stood waiting AND waiting and waiting for service! Stood right at the counter where the registers are, everyone working there just kept it moving..glanced our way but kept doing whatever they were doing. We stood there for almost 15 minutes and I finally told my father okay let's get outta here!! I WILL NEVER EVER GO HERE AGAIN! We then went a little ways down the road and found a cute little red building and we went in and was seated and had a wonderful breakfast! It's a tiny little restaurant and it was a great meal! Glad we found it because McDonald's will NEVER again see us in it, what a crappy way to treat customers!! You guys SUCK!
