Walked in on a Friday night around 8 and stood at the bar for 20 minutes. Asked the person next to me where the bartender was. He said, probably in the bathroom. I asked, do you see him? He said right there and pointed to the man SHOOTING POOL. 20m When the bartender finally finished playing and worked his way down the bar to me his first words were, GET YOUR HAT OFF THE BAR as I took it off like a gentleman. Perhaps here that's not the etiquette. I picked up my hat and put it on and said people said you were in the bathroom. He said what's it to you? NAsTy man btw. I said thank you, no thank you and left. Took a time out on the bench in front where a old man and his bicycle were. That man pulled some kind of pre rolled cigarette from his pack and said areyou looking for this? Obviously some sort of dope.

I was with a group of people, for a birthday celebration. At the door happened to be the owner of the establishment checking for fake IDs, everyone was able to come in but me. He looked at my id and said “not a chance”. He then tried to shame me for being around 23 year olds, keep in mind I’m 25, he called me an “old geezer” and asked the people I was with why I’m around them.(that’s non of your business pal) He then proceeded to walk away lifting up his hand in a flamboyant manner with the receding sound of his flipflops slapping the floor. This bar ain’t no fo-dive. It’s a historic landmark bar. After ww2 , many veterans settled in Massapequa and the park. Gannon’s opened early in the 50”s to cater to this fine population of blue collar joe six packers. Hero’s of the greatest generation. The bar has remained the same since then and is a great place to reminisce and create new lifelong memories.
