We stay here a lot only because it’s the only hotel in the area . It has never been very good. There is always some sort of problem with the room; this time it was a door that was so tight that we had to literally bang our bodies against it to open it as well as a continuously running toilet. The time before, we had no soap for the sink or the shower. When I went down to the desk, I told them we had no soap. The person looked at me like I had two heads. She threw a couple of those mini soap bars on the counter, and the other girl said that the soap and shampoo were on the wall in the shower. I told her I looked there because that’s where I thought it might be considering they had just done renovations. There was nothing there. When I told her that she said I was wrong. It was just unbelievable. The people at the desk are awful. And this hotel is very different in that some of the rooms are outside like motel rooms and some are inside like a hotel. We only want the inside rooms. If you call the main Best Western reservation number, they cannot tell you where you will be. You have to call the hotel directly in order to be told you will be inside. Unfortunately, the people at the desk are very rude and don’t want to work. During our last stay, we went to the desk to make a reservation for November. One of the girls was curled up in a chair sleeping and the other girl told me to call reservations. She would not help us. So when we got home, I called and the person who picked up, said “we are fully booked for tonight, may I help you?“ No hello, no nothing. When I told her I wanted to make a future reservation, she just switched me to the main reservations number. That person confirmed they are unable to say where the room will be and said that if the front desk won’t help me, I should go to the manager. I tried that but I never heard back. Although none of our stays (at least 10) has ever been great, the location is just so convenient to family that we’ve put up with it. But no more. Staying there is not very pleasant so we’ve made a reservation at a Marriott in Garden City for our November trip. It’s close to a parkway so getting to family probably won’t take any longer and the rates are the same. I would advise people to think twice before staying at this...
Read moreRoom was not cleaned very well, there was hair in the tub. The room was very small, last time I stayed I had a larger room, microwave and ref. This time I had none, I stayed for 3 nights, with my mom and sister, as we had a death in our family, my sister in law passed away. Had to send my sister to request toilet paper as there was no extra roll provided, each day I had to request additional towels as they only left enough for two guests even though there was three of us. Breakfast was terrible, cold eggs, bacon greasy (only provided one day) sausages were rubber, no bananas and when I went ant talked to the first desk she was rude stating they only get bananas once a week and they only need to provide three fruits, oranges were bad, set up for coffee and juice is terrible, guests were tripping over each other as it is located in corner of the breakfast bar, should have a separate table, I have stayed at many other best westerns whose breakfast bars are set up for the comfort of the guests, salt shakers were missing from several tables. If I heard the guest service attendant at the front desk tell me more than one time, that you are a MOTEL and not a hotel and that you do all that is REQUIRED by Best Western to use their name. You do not go above and beyond to accommodate your guests. There was no bath soap in the bathroom, only one facial bar of soap. The beds were difficult to get into as they are to high off the floor for senior citizens. I am sure I will not see my review posted on your website. I was extremely disappointed in my stay this time, in the future I may seek accommodations elsewhere. I do have a class reunion coming up for Massapequa Class of 1974 and I am on the committee for recommending accommodations and I am not sure if I will recommend your MOTEL (as your front desk kept referring it as). I stated in my reservation that I needed ground level close to lobby as my mother is handicapped and I was given a room outside and quite a distance from the lobby. Needless to say this stay at your Best Western was not one of my Best experiences and under the circumstances as to why we were there it only added...
Read moreMade Reservations two months prior to our stay via the 800#, customer service was very nice and efficient, booking a room was very limited so ended having to book a smoking room ugh...no other hotels available for the price in the area...a nd needed room for my brothers engagement.. Called everyday for 2weeks prior, hopeful for non-smoking cancellations to no avail. Weekend of stay called hotel ask for non-smoking due to having a medically fragile child on O2, per hotel booked solid for weekend no rooms available non-smoking per staff put us on cancel list. The nice girl at the counter called me back and said she could febreeze the room, which really had no choice. It helped for the first hour... requested for any non smoking again put us in cancel list for first available...The second night which is the las night of our stay came to find out room next to us is non-smoking and no one booked it, was available night before also, asked front desk gentlman person about a non smoking room, said none available. SMH, when room next to me is open!! So basically for a weekend we had to endure a stinky smoking room and having to leave the window open and spray febreeze could not turn on AC, due to ashtray smell.
Overall, the staff was very nice the entire hotel is very nice, quiet and clean the rooms are nice, a nice pool, and fitness area, nice breakfast..would book again if really needed....only reason gave two stars because the unwillingness to accomadate us to non smoking room after numerous request prior to our stay, and during our stay. If it was just me and hubs we wouldve sucked it up in smoking room, but with a medically ill child on O2, it rattled me a bit the...
