Food was good. Would probably go back. But they have some other issues they need to work on.. First off, when you call the phone number, you get a pre recording saying, "Download our app and get 20% off your first order." That sounds great! I downloaded it, and it doesn't work.... At all... I call and ask, they say, o yea, the app don't work anymore, and we don't use it. So WHY is that recording still up. Fine, after that recording, they say, "order on our website." Ok, I go on their website, but they don't have any area for special instructions, I simply wanted sour cream on the side, not on one of my orders, nope. Not a choice on their website. Ok, fine, I'll just call the order in. Once you get past the lying pre recored massage, someone answers, they Do Not accept orderes over the phone. I mention the issues I've had. They say the App has been removed and hasn't worked for a while now. They said go on door dash, place the order for pickup and type in any special request in the provied aera. I hang up, try that, "the guac shop has special requests turned off". At this point, I'm beyond frustrated. I drive to the location, this one in Massapequa, no tables, no chairs, it didn't even look open. The staff was beyond helpful and polite. But it just didn't look "clean" inside. The Guac (it's in there name) was brown, the beans look like they have been sitting all day, at least stir it now and then so it don't look old and crusty. Again, my food was good, I feel I may of enjoyed it more if the place didnt look half finished inside, and if the food looked fresh. They have 8 locations. 8! And they can't update a simple pre recored message. What else hasn't been updated, besides the empty and unwelcome looking restaurant. I'm sure most people order online, so they deserve to know what the place and food look like in person. Sorry, Guac Shop, but I gave you a try. Your food presentation needs help, but it was good. Update your pre recored message, and make the "special requests" section on food delivery service...
Read moreOrdered from GUAC Shop in Massapequa through Uber Eats since I couldn’t pick up this time. I’ve ordered here before and usually like the food, so I grabbed their macro bowls since they had a buy one, get one free deal. I also added a side of sweet potatoes.
The delivery didn’t take long, but the food arrived ice cold — like it was just pulled out of the fridge. The macro bowl was super underwhelming. It looked full at first glance, but it was mostly rice and lettuce at the bottom to bulk it up. There was barely any meat in it at all, and even with the deal, I still paid around $20. Definitely not worth the price.
The sweet potatoes were shriveled, cold, and tasted old — zero flavor. Just disappointing all around.
