TLDR; meal never arrived. Unprofessional staff. No accountability.
Our party of 5 arrived at 5:40 on Sunday 7/9 2023. We were seated quickly. It's a small dining room and only one other table had guests when we arrived. Other diners did start arriving shortly after us. We placed our drink order and then ordered nachos as an appetizer and also placed our dinner order. About 30 minutes later we noticed tables who came in after us being served. I found our server behind the bar and asked where our appetizer was. She told me, " I don't know, I keep checking for them." I returned to my seat and the nachos were served a few minutes later. Newer guests were now being served their entrees. While watching other tables get their meals I observed another server (Matt, I think) take a tortilla chip from a plate before he served it. Matt palmed the chip behind his back until he was out of the table's view and ate it on his way back to the bar. At 6:40, an hour after placing our order, I flagged down our server to ask about the entrees. At this point we were finally told that the order was never initially given to the kitchen but they would now expedite it. We asked to cancel the order since we did not want to wait any longer and requested to speak to the manager. The chip thief, Matt, said he was the manager, no one else in authority was on premises because as he stated "The owner decided not to come in." Matt also refused to give me a supervisors contact info, so unfortunately I had to go public in this forum. Matt blamed us for making our server cry (by being upset that we had bad service and wanting to leave?) and sarcastically asked if there was anything else we wanted to yell at him about. Read moreBEST TACOS on Long Island! I went to High Tide Taco Bar in the heart of Farmingdale the other night to eat dinner with my dad. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and able to choose our seats. The tables were socially distanced, staff members were wearing masks and everything was spotless. It is clear that they sanitize often, clean meticulously, follow all COVID-19 guidelines, and take all necessary precautions.
We sat by the front window and had a lovely server named Jenna. She was very friendly, attentive, and was able to recommend outstanding choices from the menu. My dad and I shared the guacamole and chips “before tacos” appetizer. The guacamole was fresh, homemade, and savory. We both ordered three tacos each, which is recommended for an entree. The flavors in each taco were perfectly balanced. Each taco was packed with fresh and flavorsome ingredients. They offer more than just tacos though! The menu was quite extensive; offering even vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
The mango margaritas were exceptional. I thought the tartness from the lime juice, the sweetness from the mango, and the smoothness of the tequila came together well without any single ingredient overwhelming the drink. I can’t wait to go back to try a different flavored margarita from the menu!
During our stay, the owner came to our table to check in on us. We could not stop raving about how good the food, drinks, service, and coastal ambiance was. Read moreI went there saturday 4/13/19 around 630ish pm, for dinner and drinks. We sat fairly quickly and the inside is awesome, Love the blue and white tiles behind the bar. The beer and the chips to start us off were fine salsa was a little runny but still good. we ordered the chicken empanadas and guac which were great! Now this is were my review takes a hard nosedive and why it is one star. we ordered 10 tacos between 4 people, it took them over an hour to bring out our food and due to the length of time the torillas fell apart from them getting soggy from the stuffings. The ones that didnt fall apart which were the pulled pork and the buffalo chicken. My self and my friend ordered both and then a random 3rd ( I got the carribean he got the korean I believe), within 30 min of finishing he vomited outside the resturant and I have been dealing with stabing shooting pain in my stomach and the worst heart burn through out the rest of the weekend. To get sick from eating 114$ meal between two couples, Never again. Keep in mind this is only my second review ever on google thats how bad my experience was
UPDATE: Now that the owner/manager has responded with a half hearted answer blaming it on my non existent meal from lunch due to me having to work and going for a tux fitting until 5, than taking my criticism seriously and reaching out to me directly... I will be clear... My self and my friend got sick due to them not properly cooking meat or preping/storing meat properly.
