My family where steady customers at the regal deli in Plainview, in 2017 while purchasing some food i handed the worker 2 - $20 bills to pay for food that was $20++ , he hands me back change like i paid him $30, i told him i gave you $40, he looked at me and said no you didn’t, I realize mistakes happen, but i was 100% sure i gave him $40, i told him theres a camera pointing right at us, go check, he refused, i told him to tell the manager or owner to do it, he refused, owner is not here, he says, Then later that day i called from home and asked to speak with the owner/ manager , this guy answers the phone, ok ok ok he says ill tell him to call you, no call, no response. It wasn't about the money, it was about this guy trying to get over on me. Moral of the story it is now 2021 and that day in 2017 was last time me or my family stepped foot in the regal deli Plainview, they will never get my...
Read moreWe ONLY came here because our regular Kosher/Jewish deli, PASTRAMI KING lost their lease earlier this year and have not yet reopened. We’ve been here before. The onion rings were awful; falling apart after each bite. The coleslaw was pretty good. The pickles were okay. My husband was going to order brisket and when he asked for horseradish the server said there was none; that customers have asked for it in the past but “they” just don’t get it. Instead, he also ordered the hot pastrami on seedless rye. The bread was awful, thin and fell apart when the sandwich was picked up. The pastrami, though, was pretty okay. The restaurant environment in general is outdated and somewhat depressing. Parking in limited unless you find a spot in a small parking lot not visible or advertised from a very busy Old Country Rd. All in all, this was not an experience we...
Read moreIf you want an old school deli experience, go to Regal! Delis are an endangered species and we have to support them to keep them existing. The waitress who runs the show and knows all the regulars. Cole slaw very fresh. Pickles on point. Corned beef perfectly portioned on rye that melts into the meat. Egg barley with mushrooms and onions was impressive. Really good mustard. Washed down by a cold Dr Brown’s root beer. It doesn’t get more...
