So annoyed!!! I loved this place and I just can’t eat there anymore. Sandwiches are delicious because they did a good job with the menu. Unfortunately they have a bunch of kids in there making the sandwiches, I’m talking babies. That’s fine if you have one manager in there that’s old enough to know home to handle food supervising them. I made my order and this baby girl comes out holding 4 rolls in her bare hands and slaps them on the table. She proceeded to grab tomato’s for my sandwich with her bare hands and slapped them onto my contaminated hero bread. I turned red I was so mad and told the girl at the counter to have the baby boy with gloves on make my sandwich. The guy at the grill, no gloves. Forget about masks. No chance. Wouldn’t be writing this review and making it public if there was a manager in there above 16 that I could complain to. Brought my 2 sandwiches home that cost $33 and threw them away. I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it. Wake up guys!!!! Handling the public’s food involves trust and you guys destroyed it. That’s the last time I order a bunch of hero’s for Sunday football...
Read moreWhen I paid 11.99 for a sandwhich and side, I didn't expect my chicken on my sandwhich to be so dried out that it looked like bacon. I had to chew off/pick off the dried pieces so I could actually salvage my sandwich. The pickle that came with it was very sour, not like a regular pickle spear or slice. It tasted sour like warheads, like vomit. I spit it out immediately. And the sandwhich is loaded with mayo and still dry. I also asked for potato salad and got macaroni salad, which isn't a huge deal, but it was like adding insult to injury. My mom loves this place, and we always get our bagels here when driving up to Long Island, but I probably won't be ordering any food from here anymore. 😕 The workers are nice, they get the job done, but it is a bit chaotic when ordering. The atmosphere isn't anything special, hence the 3...
Read moreI've been going to Dugan's since high school - they've been a staple of Syosset-Woodbury far longer than I've been alive, and have a faithful breakfast & lunch following.
Your first time here may bring back memories of that "Soup Nazi" Seinfeld episode, but as long as you follow everyone else's lead and keep the ordering line moving, you'll be just fine. Come here 4-5 times and they'll have your name and usual sandwich order down pat.
I dabble with a variety of lunch sandwiches, and while they may run you $8-$10 apiece, they're hearty and worth it. I go for the chicken breast special; simple, delicious, and a sandwich to be reckoned with. And the hungry man for breakfast? Three eggs, ham, sausage, and bacon on a foot-long hero? Better find a friend to split that...
