Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Town of Penfield

One of the worst Applebee's we've been too. We live super close by now and so we've come twice and both were ridiculous experiences. The first time, we were seated under one of the big TVs that had a game on and it was blaring quite loud. We simply asked to be seated at the table next to us and our server said yes and that it's totally fine. A few minutes later the manager randomly decided to say to us that there's nothing he could do about the TV volume level and that we could just move seats. We told him that we didn't ask to have the TV turned down and that we were reseated and it's fine. He continued about the TV for whatever reason and we just said ok. Aside from that our server was friendly but we didn't see him often as they were really understaffed. The second time was on Monday evening and they were completely packed. This is fine but the issue once again was that they were understaffed. Our server said they didn't schedule enough people and also had people calling out. Moreover, our server eventually went on break and told us who would be taking over and we said ok. It wasn't until 15-20 minutes later when we were long done eating that he finally came around with our check. Then another 10-15 minutes waiting to catch him to give him our payment because we had no idea we could pay on that stupid little tablet. When he came over he showed us that we could and walked away again before I could tell him that we were charged extra for an item we didn't order. So more waiting for that as well. It was super ridiculous and angering. To top it all off, as we were getting our jackets on, we saw the manager from a couple months ago that went on and on about the stupid TV, come up to that same exact TV to turn up the volume. I frequent there often and the food is great...But my last experience there was on Feb.13th 2014... I arrived at 5.15pm and told them we will be having a party of 7 tonight, we were seated by 5.25pm...It was very busy and we experience a long wait after ordering our food though... The waiter was very nice and friendly, We all received seperate checks to pay our bills... My daughter and my bill came to $31.48 and I gave him a tip of $3.52 to round it off to $35.00... I didn't leave a better tip because I didn't want to over charge my bank acct.I few days later I was checking my bank withdrawal debits and charges and there was a charge of $37.48....I didn't have a receite for that amount, so went to my bank and it was Apple Bee's charge... The waiter put $6.00 for his tip on my bill that I did not authorize I only authorized the $3.52 for his tip. I called Apple Bee's and spoke with the manager and explained what happened. He said it must have been a typo error... I said I hope so. He said he's a good kid he wouldn't do something like that. I said he was a very nice waiter and didn't think he would do that either, hopefully it's just a mistake. I said but that's not right. he said to come in he'll give me back my $3.00.???I said It will cost me more in gas to come get my $3.00. He then said that well next time you come in and he waits your table just don't tip him. I found that to be unexceptable.So I called the 1800# and they were going to look into it and get back with me... I haven't heard anything back yet. That is fraud taking money not authorized... Well we were going there on a regular basis whether it was later at night for the 1/2 price appetizers or a dinner with the family. For a budget the 2 for 20 is a good option for the kids. We went there again on 10/15/2017 for dinner.. This experience was horrible. the waitress appeared to be new and confused. The place was not packed. When she took the order mine (of course ) was incorrect. The only reason I did not send it back is due to it took FOREVER to get it. My daughter and husband got the steak and they could not even eat it. They said it had no flavor (not seasoned) and was unchewable. When the waitress brought our food we had no table service. We asked here if she could please get it. So on her way to get our silverware so we could eat, she stopped at two other tables to get there order. So needless to say the food sat for a while. We stopped going there for same sort of issues not so long ago. We gave it another chance and the last few previous times the food was very good. But looks like they are a hit and miss or inconsistent restaurant. NOW i will ad that right across the street, a Chili's opened. SO we were sure that they would be on there game. As to chilis was packed. Also. my husband and i ordered a beer - glass, they charged us full price. the second one we ordered we got for the happy hour price. Now let me tell you when we ordered the first one it was only a matter of minutes till happy hour but i guess minutes matter to them.
