My initial thoughts were such: It looks very boring. There was no decor. (edit to say I see the owners have some cool things in store and I look forward to seeing it) The floors creak, the tables and chairs are cheap looking. The bar lacks character.. It was packed. The menu was limited and not terribly appealing. Items are all ala carte. The waitress did not know what brand of soft drinks they served, but asked for me, and said it was generic cola. I think this was all God's way of reminding me that atmosphere is only as good as the company you keep, and that I really need to drink more water anyway. I ordered the steak, because, well, that is either safe, or defining of any restaurant. I chose asparagus to add to the check, since my water was free. On all things except for being seated (we were seated immediately), it was lengthy wait times. (see above about the company you keep, as it also applies here.) Our meals came just as I was about to eat my own hand. I must say, the steak and the asparagus were divine. I truly enjoyed them. My mother and step-father also really enjoyed their choices. The check was about what I would have expected.A bit on the pricey side, but worth it. I am hoping they invest some of it into things to hang on the walls. I almost left an earring hanging just for conversation. I would return when I am back in NY. That was my birthday 9/20 btw. My compliments to the chef, whom I have probably worked with at some point. After seeing your reply to my snarky review, I appreciate you having a sense of humor with me. You have the makings for a great place to eat. I know you just opened (relatively speaking) As long as the food is wonderful, and the price is reasonable, building on the decor is something that you can do as you go along. The atmosphere seemed overlit. It would be kind of cool if you could add in some of those tri-fold room dividers amongst the tables. It would make it feel a little less like an empty house with a bunch of tables and chairs. I will definitely be back to see how it grows. Be sure to let me know what you feel I should try at least once. Best wishes for your new and growing new restaurant! We all said we would eat there again and I look forward to seeing how...

I dined here for the first time this week. I have since been back to eat each of the past 3 days. The food is superb. Each dish I've had was better than the last. The food is all thoughtfully prepared and plated. Each meal was flawlessly executed. I can not say enough positive things about the food. The beer and wine options are great, and the cocktail menu rivals anything in the area.
The owners run both the front and back of the house. Their talents are only overshadowed by their kindness. Both my wife, and friend were impressed by how welcomed we felt while there. It is clear that the other customers I met feel the same way. The combination of the team and the food makes the Peppered Pig my new favorite place to spend my money. This is they type of establishment you will want to support.
The atmosphere is also lovely. There is secluded outdoor seating for anyone pandemic conscious, or who just prefers some fresh air. The bar seating is comfortable, nice and clean. The dining room is larger than you might think from the road, and each room is well cared for and classy.
I highly suggest you make this your next stop. Your only regret will be that it took you too long to find this...

We had to visit U of R for our daughter and decided to make a little vacation as a family. We stayed in Rochester for 4 days. Since we all love to eat as a family and enjoy all kinds of food, we tried every way possible to find good food in the area. We found some but we were not thrilled. Feeling something major was missing on our trip, we started our restaurant search for our last night in the area. We have been seeing Peppered Pig on our searches but since it was in another town we were reluctant. Wow! We were soooo happy that we decided to try this restaurant. It was a total game changer to say the least. We ordered 4 different dishes, appetizers, wine and dessert. All were delicious, excellent and well prepared. Oh, also reasonably priced. Our waitress for the night was Kelly, who offered us prompt, professional and very friendly service. Do yourself a favor and do not miss the opportunity of visiting this wonderful restaurant if you are anywhere remotely near...
