I’ve eaten at Panera for more than a decade, and this was an extremely poor experience. First of all the staff were exceedingly rude and unpleasant. In a simple example, the person taking our order (who interacted with us as if we were unwanted and inconvenient) asked my elderly father and I whether we wanted drinks and we ordered two teas. The person, then gave us two cold drink cups and I asked if they were suitable for tea. She looked at me in a rude way said you should’ve said you want to tea cups. We ordered salads had 50% the usual dressing . Furthermore the salads we ordered, which were Greek Salads, did not follow the standard Panera protocol. For example, they did not have peppers on top, which is normal. The table we sat at was filthy. One of the managers cleaned it wet. She said she would come and dry it. She never did and we did this ourselves. Completely unacceptable. The bathrooms are filthy and a disgrace. Having eaten at Panera‘s right across the United States and at multiple times in this area, this is easily the worst. This branch needs a full management shake up and retraining. They should be ashamed of themselves. I brought my father to your restaurant as a special treat. After a medical problem he had and you ruined it. Your customers should be treated with respect and with kindness and you should prepare food in the correct way and the facility...
Read moreI usually enjoy Panera, but I had a disappointing experience today during a rapid pickup. The app showed my food was ready, and when I politely asked a staff member (Nancy) if the order she called out was mine (it had an item I ordered), she responded very curtly with, “You’re not [Customer X], so?” — which felt unnecessary and dismissive.
I showed her my app, which clearly said my order was ready, and she asked for my name. I gave her my first name and last name A (the first part of my full last name). She insisted there was no such order. After about a minute, she found it — listed under last name B, which is actually the second part of my full last name. When I explained this, she sharply told me, “Well, last name A is your middle name,” which was both incorrect and frankly rude. It’s not appropriate for staff to argue with customers about their own names.
I understand that order mix-ups happen, but the issue here was the tone and lack of basic respect. A little patience and professionalism would have...
Read moreExcellent. Coffee and cream/milk all empty with a lunch rush. Ask manager Karin to help me out. She was friendly, professional, and courtesy and exceeded my expectations for customer service. I loved that she was so cognizant of her public facing communication, including the quick eye contact while she was busy finishing up her prior order, just to let me know she is aware and on it. Her level of politeness afforded to me was over the top. That's rare these days! I can see why she is the manager. Props. Sip club has gotten me into Panera, and I am glad and really enjoy the brand now. Usually, I take out, but the warm interior environment is usually overpowering, and I opt to eat in. Had the full-sized French Dipper. It was delicious! Coffee always decent. Food would be 5 stars if the portion was a bit more generous for the price. Bagged kettle chips as good...
