Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Town of Ramapo

I've been to other rita's before, and was very excited for one to open in my neighborhood: and I was not let down. The store was beautiful; extremely clean and well-kept. The service was super fast, and the workers were extremely nice and friendly. I had read in a different review that they didn't make restrictions to help prevent covid; and that couldn't be more wrong; everyone in the store was wearing a mask, and there were also markings on the floor to enforce where people should stand to help prevent the spread. And how could I almost forget: the ices! I was recommended by a friend to try a misto, and it was delicious! I really recommend it. And to top it off they also have cholov yisroel options, which is really nice, and caters really well to a frum community who have been wanting something like...

The food is good and our server was nice. HOWEVER, this location has ZERO enforcement of any form of COVID precautions. They do not enforce masks to be warn by patrons, nor do they have plexiglass hanging up to protect workers. Employees are enforced to wear masks, but due to the overall small size of the store and congregation of many people without masks standing right near everyone else, someone is bound to bring the virus in and spread it to other patrons there. Do yourself a favor and go to the store in Mahwah until this location can enforce more COVID...

I was reluctant to go there due to warnings about crowds and poor Covid safety compliance. I finally tried on a school day mid-afternoon. There were no other customers, but there is a prominent sign requiring masks and the workers wore them. The ices taste great and service is friendly.
