BJ's Wholesale Club — Restaurant in Town of Riverhead

Hello I have been going to the BJ’s in Riverhead, NY ever since it opened. While I do like your products I have become concerned with the fact that every time I go through the entrance the heating/ air conditioning unit above the door is totally clogged with dirt or dust to the point where it appears clogged. It’s absolutely disgusting and if the Department of Health ever came in, your company would be sited for this. Not only that but your workers and your customers are inhaling these particles. This needs to be addressed immediately. Also, the other day I had to ask the young man who was collecting the carts if the store was open (it was 7:45pm) because the front area had no lights on. People were driving in and turning around because they thought the store was closed. When I asked a supervisor he told me that “the higher ups” made this decision. I find that very hard to believe. Someone could trip and fall in that darkened area. It was totally unsafe. Please address these issues ASAP. Beware! Bjs enrolls you in automatic renewals without telling you. I did not realize this and thought my membership had expired. When I went to renew in club, the girl at customer service never let me know that I did not need to renew because my membership was still active. Instead she created a whole new membership for me with new card and number and signed me up for auto renewal. When I asked her she told me to call 1-800 number to cancel. Well I tried that and decided to hang up after being on hold for over an hour. Tried to call club to talk to someone at customer service and mailbox is full. Turns out she never canceled my first membership so now I have 2 memberships set for auto renewal at different times. When I asked for my old card back with my picture on it she said sorry I can’t give it back we are required to shred it. Luckily I have the bjs app with my old membership number. Now I have to try to go back to club to fix this since I can’t get anyone on the phone. I got scammed!!! Go...

I’m split down the middle on this one.. It’s always an ordeal shopping here.. The crowded parking lot, the long lines at check out and exit, and the typically unhelpful staff (and customers if I’m being honest) make for a generally unpleasant experience.. That being said, if the membership fees are doable for you there are still some deals to be found here.. My mother has been a member for at least a decade now and she swears by the bargains at BJ’s.. They have started to offer “healthy” food and produce options here, and although many products are labeled “organic” I am personally a little skeptical about their quality..
