horrible! we were visiting LI we were looking for a nice decent sushi in the area we figured we'd try this place. first impression was already bad the host act as if we were botheting her the whole restaurant was empty only one table that was already there she sat us at the booth right next to the other customer even though the restaurant was completely empty the booth was squeeky my seat moves every time the guy behind me move. there was one server we told him we are from out of town and this is our first time he smiles didnt bother to recommend anything so we went for sushi sashimi for 2 I clearly ordered sushi sashimi for 2 #6 $37 came out sushi sashimi for 2 #8 $58 didn't want to make a big deal since the food is already made. its ok to hustle to make more tips but thats not how to go about, I used to manage a few sushi restaurants in the past I in know how hard waiting table is and how to hustle for tip. give good service, recommend few dishes, be attentative clear appetizer plates and dishes and place with fresh plate for entree. the food was just ok low quality for the price I've had better, clearly not traditional Japanese sushi standard. the next day I called back asking for thwr manager trying to explain him the situation yesterday, the (guy) manager doesn't sound polite at all as I tried to explain he said "you see the food you manage sushi restaurants before why don't you say something WE NEVER MAKE MISTAKE" i have no problem eith the bill the price etc but i simply calling to let him know that there was a confusion and it shouldn't happen didnt want to say that I know what might happen to my food by being too fussy or point out the error, but WOW I've never seen a manager/owner would be this rough and right away telling the customer thats the customer's mistake for not pointing it out and that THEY NEVER MAKE MISTAKE. I will be coming to this area a lot since we have just bought a property here, but will notbe returning to this restaurant ever! Read moreWent back to Sakura tonight, normally it is very good but tonight oh boy tonight was by far different. We were a party of 4, and had to wait 30 minutes at the hibachi table, thankfully a party of 3 came in so it was time to get the cook out of the kitchen. We were already served our soup and salad so now we have to wait on the party of 3. The chef, was new and did not know how to cook. I ordered the filet (cooked medium) and the chicken, both were overcooked. We go there often and i always order the filet, after my first bite I could tell it was not filet, I asked the chef and he said that it is filet, I still dont believe it. Tasted nothing like a filet. So, all I ate was the noodles, which were very good. I told my server, he gets the manager, I explained again what the problem was, she insists its filet, and gave me attitude when I told her to take it off the bill. She said no refunds, oh no, i didn't accept that answer. After arguing with her, she charged me for the noodles i ate and a side of vegetables (which i didn't even touch), i dont like cooked vegetables and NEVER eat them. In fact, i had the chef put them in a to go container that i had there already, cause i never eat the vegetables. I usually bring them home for someone else to eat. Read moreIf i could rate 0 stars, i would. Let me just start off by saying I walked into the restaurant and was not greeted for 2 minutes. When the lady finally came up to me, she had an attitude and was very rude. I asked to sit in a different location of the restaurant and she said “no” before I could even finish speaking my sentence. She proceeded to cut me off and day “no one is sitting there in that room” when my boyfriend literally checked and saw a bunch of people at different tables in that room. Once we sat down, we didn’t even have any time to look at the menu and the server came up and said “anything to drink?” There was no sort of introduction or greeting to me and my boyfriend. We asked for more time to see the menu but proceeded to say “ a water, seltzer, and ice tea.” I waited 20 minutes for a simple glass of water and i had to ask 2 times. Ridiculous. Continuing on, no one checked on us throughout our meal and we had to continually ask for assistance and even then, the servers would ignore us and walk past us with no type of acknowledgment. The food was not that great either- i’d rate it 2.5 stars. I asked for extra condiments and i was given a look like I wasn’t allowed to ask for something else that I needed.
