Mattress Firm Riverhead — Hotel in Town of Riverhead

After putting it off for WAY too long, I reluctantly went into Mattress Firm, in Riverhead, to see what my options would be and around how much it was gonna cost me. Needless to say I was NOT looking forward to this venture. I was promptly and kindly greeted by Brett as I entered the store. Brett asked me how he could help me and I told him everything I knew… “I need a new mattress and I don’t think I like tempurpedics.” Brett started asking questions and the more I paid attention to his questions, the more evident it became that not only did Brett know the products he was selling, but he also took great care in making sure he found the EXACT right mattress for me. Brett spent the better part of an hour and a half, walking me through the showroom, explaining each mattress type, brand and feature, so I understood jus what I was laying o .There were a lot more options and styles than I expected, but after a thorough trial and full understanding of everything, we knew what I liked and equally as important, what I disliked. There was no rush to sign, no attempt to cut my time short and no question too stupid; I had Brett’s full attention. All the numbers were simple and most importantly, made sense. No hidden fees and unlike most salesmen that work for commission, Brett did everything he could to make sure we got the best mattress for us, at the best price possible. Brett is an amazing sales representative and should be used by Mattress Firm as an example for all other sales representatives to take notes from. It wasn’t even a question, at ANY point, if Bretts number one priority was helping me, as a person, to alleviate my back pain issues and to get my sleep back on track, to as good as it can possibly be. If anyone is in the market for a new bed or mattress, your first and ONLY option should be Brett at Mattress Firm in Riverhead. Brett should be recognized for his outstanding customer service by upper management and corporate. Brett goes the extra mile for his customers and in 2023, that is very rare. Visited this store on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Greeted by a young man with a notepad. We were looking for a Hybrid, full size bed. He showed us the choices that were available. However, one of the beds he was showing had a top that was tufted and soft. I didn't want it because of my sciatica, lower back, and hip issues. The salesman was called away and the store manager named Jeff took over. Jeff kept pushing us to purchase an adjustable bed. He kept insisting that it was the only way to go for a great night sleep. We informed him we didn't want one. He kept pushing me to try out the adjustable mattress with all the tufting that I wasn't interested stating that he wasn't happy about the fact that I didn't like it and 99 percent of his customers did and purchased the mattress with the adjustable feature. He said to me that I wasn't smart in not choosing the mattress of his choice. Jeff stated that he was deeply disappointed and hurt about the fact that I didn't like the tufted mattress. After I finished trying out the mattress with the adjustable options he so rudely insisted, my lower back, left hip and leg tightened up and I limped out of the store. I was sore! I don't want to purchase a mattress that tilts, vibrates, shakes, and amongst other options, just a regular mattress with a foundation. Oh! That's another issue, people don't purchase foundations with their mattresses any longer he told us and that we were "old-fashioned"! I have shopped at this location eleven years ago and the place hasn't...

Let me start by saying this is my 2nd review in the past 4 months! I have a really complex situation with my back and neck ..so finding the perfect mattress is not a simple task for me. Back in October the Store Manager in Riverhead, Robert offered me a deal I could not refuse..as he was suggesting I try the Intellebed, which is hopefully the best brand for my situation, it is also one of the top 3 most expensive beds in the store. He gave me 120 days to try it out and here I am now, a week away from that deadline, so I went back in bc I am finding this bed is not the bed I want to jump into nightly or spend the next 10 to 15 years in!! For me, it lacks comfort..So Rob advise that I try out the step up ..more padding more gel etc ...MORE MONEY (yikes) ..which I am not thrilled about but since my daily well being is riding on this I agreed to give it a try. Not only did he say I could return the mattress if I can't find anything at all that meets my needs in the case I don't love this one, he also called me a few days later to say he found a manufactures rebate coupon ..which he did not have to do..the new mattress was already charged onto my card. So I am just dropping another quick review for anyone undecided on where to shop for the perfect bed.. I would say they have deals that are hard to pass up and they aim to please.
