Watching the sun set on the Beaverkill River while eating a Raimondo's Pizza-what an experience. Wish I could have taken the picture of the smell as you walk in their restaurant. Aromas of baking bread, cheese, sauce. And right there in front are the pizza ovens with the father wielding his peel, the tool of his trade that reaches in the oven and pivots the pizzas with expert precision.. You can watch him carefully check and spin your huge pizza while you wait. This place is family owned, I think, they have great hours, a full menu, and they're reliable...even when all the other restaurants are closed (we came here on a Monday and many restaurants don't even open until Thursday here!). You can always get a nice meal in the little town of Roscoe 7 days a week at Raimondo's. We've returned many times and are always delighted to see they are still going strong.

Well, I don't want to run down a business, but my experience was not good. The food, that is. Did take out, people were nice, promptly got to my order, but I came away very disappointed. I did show up right at 11am when they open and I noticed garlic knots in the display case/warmer. I ordered 4 garlic knots and I chose a calzone with sausage, peppers and onions. Everything was sub-par. I couldn't even really eat the calzone as it was so sloppy, floppy, and visually unappealing. You'll see the photos. The cheeses were very separated and the mozzarella didn't really melt, it congealed. When the calzone cooked, it burst, and the contents slid a little as I carried it to my vehicle. Pretty much everything came out of it, but I was able to slide it back in. The garlic knots had no garlic. I mean none. If it's in there, it's hiding. And no butter either. Very dry. It looks like a place that's been in business for many years, and I can't imagine that it would still be going if people didn't frequent it and like it enough to go back, but I assure you, the calzone is not going to win anyone over. I really wanted a couple slices, but I didn't see any pizza out, so if I'm in the area again, maybe I'll swing by around noon and try a slice, but as far as the calzone and knots, never again. Hard to rate the atmosphere as I went there right when it opened and it was empty. I mean, I was in at 11am on the nose, so it's gonna be tough to be packed and have a good vibe going at that time, can't blame the restaurant. I tried to eat the calzone, but after a couple bites, I decided to feed the wildlife.that's the last photo.

My husband and son took me out to Raimondo's for my birthday. When we walked in, we stood there waiting to be seated then was told to go sit wherever we wanted. So we found a table and waiting a good 10 minutes before a waitress came over to take our drink order. Once we got our drinks we placed our order. My son ordered a ceaser salad and a cheese burger. My husband and I got a buffalo chicken pizza and a half dozen of garlic knots. None of our food came out together. My son finished his food before we even got out pizza, so when we got our pizza I just had it boxed so we could leave. We got home and the cheese wasn't even melted on the pizza. We were there for almost 2 hours. The waitress was very rude and was more worried about making alcohol drinks, then bringing out food. The garlic knots were doughy and had no flavor. So much for a good birthday dinner.

Such great food! We had the mussels special in this amazing marinara sauce. Also the lamb in butter sauce. The bread is fresh out of the oven and also great. The salad was fresh and homemade Italian dressing made it even better. We were too stuffed to get dessert but they looked as yummy as the dinner was. I highly recommend this restaurant. The waitress was very nice too and kept up our drinks and bread.
