El Palacio De Los Mariscos — Restaurant in Town of Rye

Welcoming, New Peruvian Restaurant in Byram, right on the Greenwich CT and Port Chester NY border. Greeted by a smiling hostess asking how she could be of assistance. I ask for a take-out menu and was guided to the dinner menu. Wanting to stay with Peruvian food I was familiar with, I went with: Chupe de Camarones; Ceveche de Pescado; and Saltado de Camarones.

The shrimp soup was a little different, but as good as, any that we have had in this area. The broth had a little more milk than others and I don't believe I've ever had a couple of small pieces of chicken in the soup either.

The "stir-fry" shrimp, with scallions, tomatoes, and peppers over French fries w/a nice side of white rice was very tasty.

The marinated mixed fish was extremely fresh and properly marinated at the same time. It is one of the very best Ceveche's we've had in a very long time!

Will we be back.....?

Stopped in here while walking through Port Chester on a Saturday afternoon, mostly drawn in by the appetizing photos of meals in the window. Good thing we did. Ordered fried calamari and it was probably the best I've had. The breading is perfectly seasoned and the calamari is so fresh. The meals are served with a green creamy sauce, the kind that usually accompanies Lomo Saltado. It's spicy and delicious.

Without a doubt, I'll be returning to try more of the seafood meals which looked delicious but a bit heavier than I was ready to eat this afternoon. Definitely...

This is a gem of a place. Service is friendly. The cook gave me an unfriendly look when I parked in the back, thinking I wasn't going to eat there. No matter. They do all the classic Peruvian dishes well. Ceviche is some of the best I've had on the East Coast. Also have plenty of parking...
