Bottom line,I would never go back.I ordered chimichangas to go(my favorite mexican dish)and the portions were that of a french restauraunt, they took 3 small chimichangas and cut them in half on an angle as to give the illusion it was a lot of food. Each piece was half filled with meat, leaving the ends to fry too much and were hard, dry and brittle. In the middle what looked to be a decent scoop of guacomole was really a teaspoon of guacomole on top of a bed of lettuce, this place has better illusions than David Copperfield.Along side was rice and beans in a plastic container about 5 inches by 4 inches, and NEVER have i ever had any type of South American/spanish food served with about 2 ounces of rice and 2 ounces of beans. There was however a complimentary small bag of nacho chips with 1 container of salsa for 2 orders of chimichangas. The flavor of the meat was prolly the best thing(well seasoned)but there wasn't too much of it to enjoy. The price? OUTRAGEOUS.It was about 19 bucks for 1 order. This place took mexican food and tried to turn it into french fine dining. Now you know. Heres a REAL chimichanga,LOS AMIGOS 2273 31st St, Long Island City, NY,13 buks, absolutely the best chimi I've ever had,I've had a LOT of mexican from a LOT of places....this place tops them, the rest of their dishes are incredible as well, great food, autentic, good quantity, good price.

So I hope the owner is reading this review. Very seldom do I rate a place low.... just because. However, when you have rude and disrespectful staff waiting on you, it's unacceptable. I arrived at 3pm and no one was there, I mean no one. I had to ask the waitress if they were open as she was busy on her phone. I proceeded to order Guacamole and chips while I waited for a business partner. As it came for the waitress to leave she hands me the bill, even though I was still drinking and eating. I though it was rude in many ways, the person I was with thought I was in a rush and i was really upset about that. It was a job with a client I was trying to land. I made a comment to other wait staff that had just checked in; I guess you guys want me to leave I stated. Well, the original waitress came back and asked if there was a problem and if I had an issue.... I said an issue, absolutely... you are rude and there's no one here... why are you rushing me to leave..I am not done... She took such a terrible attitude. Notice to owner..... get rid of your staff like that... I will not be coming back... furthermore, look at my profile in Google.... you never know whom you are serving. If I could give you zero stars for the way your staff treated me yesterday, I would!. Cheer up and lighten up... train your staff!

Yeah, this place was just…… not good. The only thing tasty was the fountain soda. I ordered the Al pastor enchiladas and had to ask the waiter if i got the right dish. From the look of it, I thought it was going to be very good. But I was deceived. The meat was not Al pastor at all and it just tasted like they tried to mix way to many strong flavors together that just didn’t go well together. Oh! And then I asked for some hot sauce and got what tasted like sofrito in a jar! Never again….

A Disappointing Experience at Salsa Picante - Not Worth a Return Visit

I had really high hopes for Salsa Picante, but unfortunately, my experience there left me feeling utterly disappointed. The restaurant had a promising atmosphere when we walked in, but things quickly went downhill from there.

First off, their bar menu lacked a classic option that I look forward to enjoying during any night out – Jack Daniel's. I couldn't believe a restaurant like this wouldn't have such a popular whiskey. However, I brushed it off and opted for another drink, ready to move on with my night.

My frustration was fueled when we found a huge hair in our silverware. It's not only disgusting, but also a blatant reflection of careless hygiene standards at Salsa Picante. It was a struggle not to lose my appetite right away.

But the worst part - our waitress seemed to be completely disinterested in providing good service. She had her headphones on, barely acknowledging our presence, let alone checking up on our order or ensuring our satisfaction. After anxiously waiting for over 45 minutes, in an almost empty restaurant, we finally received our food. But by then, our excitement had evaporated.

To top it all off, our waitress showed an unprofessional and off-putting attitude, which did nothing to remedy the situation. For a moment, it even seemed like we were bothering her by merely being there.

In conclusion, Salsa Picante was a massive disappointment – from the bar menu to the discourteous waitress. I strongly suggest you consider other options for an enjoyable Mexican dining experience. Regrettably, Salsa Picante will not be receiving a second visit from me, nor will I recommend it to...
