An Extraordinary Anniversary Dinner at Talia, Port Chester We recently celebrated a special anniversary at Talia Restaurant and had one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we made our reservation online, the hospitality was exceptional. The restaurant called my husband ahead of time to ask if they could create a custom tasting menu with wine pairings as a surprise for us — and we happily agreed. As self-proclaimed foodies who usually like to micromanage menus, letting the Chef take the reins was a welcome (and rewarding!) change. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by every member of the staff and shown to a beautifully set table on the banquette, complete with a handwritten anniversary card. Chef Ian and Manager Brian told us they had been planning our menu and pairings for weeks — and it showed in every detail. The seven-course tasting menu was creative, perfectly paced, and absolutely memorable. Each course could have been the highlight of any meal on its own: a velvety, smoky cassoulet soup poured tableside; an inventive grilled Caesar; house-made tagliatelle with lobster and Osetra caviar; crispy polenta with wild mushrooms and smoked garlic cream; halibut with chanterelles and butternut squash risotto; a perfectly aged duck duo; and finally, the restaurant’s signature tiramisu. Chef Ian presented each dish himself, sharing stories about his ingredients, techniques, and inspirations — adding such a personal touch. The wine pairings, selected by Sommelier John, were spot-on and thoughtfully introduced with fascinating background about each vineyard. Even the Pastry Chef came by to talk about her process for the sorbet and desserts. To top it all off, we were given a personalized printed anniversary menu keepsake at the end of the evening — a perfect memento of a perfect night. Talia’s blend of talent, creativity, and genuine hospitality rivals any fine-dining experience in New York. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or stopping in for handmade pasta, pizza, or an incredible dessert, Talia is an absolute gem with a lively atmosphere. We’re so grateful to the entire team for making our anniversary unforgettable — and so lucky to have this modern French Italian treasure right here in Port Chester.

How lucky are we to have Talia in our neighborhood! Firstly, the atmosphere was beautiful and comfortable. There are two floors, and we found the upstairs to be a bit brighter. The tables are spread apart enough so that you do not feel like you have to shout to the others at your table. Secondly, the service was exceptional, and we want to shout out our waitress, Nadine. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and so bubbly and kind. Everyone was extremely attentive and friendly, and we never had to ask for more water because they were always on it! Lastly, the food was absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was perfect. We had lamb meatballs, the arancini, the bikini sandwich, and shared the rigatoni chicken bolegnese. Each dish was better than the next! We finished off our meal with the olive oil cake with basil gelato. YUM! And of course, the cocktails were divine. Highly recommend!!

Update: 8-14 Food: I ordered the steak and my wife had the duck. Both were fantastic. The steak had a nice touch of garlic salt and butter naturally flavored. I only had a piece of the duck, but it was tender, soft, chewy texture with just the right amount of salt to flavor it and nothing else to overpower the actual flavor. Cocktails were good, strong, and flavorful. The ice cream has their own real cherries on it! The food and drink are unique and if it's own kind. I would definitely come again. Service: Service was excellent. I didn't need to ask for anything because everyone was attentive. Atmosphere: It was a good date night. We were able to talk comfortably, chit chat, and not feel like we had to talk over anyone. The decor blends in with the dining experience and i think the details of the design brings a nice finishing touch.

WOW! But I wasn’t surprised as someone who has previously enjoyed the colorful culinary flair that Chef Ian so masterfully serves. Not only are these presented beautifully they are incredible! We dined there on opening night. It started with a friendly and gracious parking attendant to the polite and bubbly hostess and wait staff … everyone couldn’t have been more attentive but in no way intrusive. We enjoyed the Hamachi crudo which was light and fresh with notes of sweetness alongside a mesculin truffle salad. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Duck while I savored the perfectly crusted but delightfully tender scallops … truth be told the garlic confit on this dish was my favorite as it was like candy. We never eat desert but felt we could not pass up the olive oil cake, with a smear of whip cream gently holding a small drizzle of EVOO and a side of Basil Gelato! Yes, you heard me right, this was extraordinary in flavor do not pass it up!! Next time we will have to try the Parmesan cheesecake. Talia may have just stated us saving room for dessert too! Well done Talia and congratulations Chef Ian! I look forward to the outside spaces to sip the wonderfully crafted cocktails as well… do much to mention I almost forgot to let you know how...

The restaurant space is gorgeous! Love the light-filled rooms on both floors, and having 2 separate bars w/the beautiful round one on 2nd floor so inviting--a great space for a private party. The vibe is very upbeat and fun for a friends' meetup while still being calm for a special occasion. The food is all amazing and different from the usual menus you see on repeat in Greenwich, Westchester. Our group especially loved sharing a pizza (Neopolitan style, sophisticated) for an app and then moving to the delicious duck, halibut, pastas (all made in house). The chicken bolognese was a new take on the classic and we all loved it. Ice creams such as basil are made in house as well and perfectly complement the olive oil cake and chocolate desserts. Jesse the bartender is a real pro who is so engaging and loves coming up with fabulous cocktails made to your preference. John helped us find a great wine from the impressive wine list. A great time, can't wait...
