My experience here was vastly different than other reviewers. Maybe I visited on a bad day.

For me, it was disappointing. Stopped in for the first time this morning and ordered a simple breakfast of two eggs over medium with home fries and toast.

As I sat at the counter waiting, two servers carried on a conversation in front of me, discussing customer habits they don't like, as well as extensive personal anecdotes.

They even went on to insult senior citizens, saying that old women always steal the jellies and sugar packets from the tables.

I had to interrupt them in order to ask for the Wi-Fi password- only to be told that they don't give it out to customers.

We are heading into 2019. Free Wi-Fi in restaurants and hotels is no longer a courtesy, it is a basic accommodation. It would be almost as absurd for me to have asked for a fork, only to be told "we don't give those out to customers."

When my order arrived I discovered that my eggs were grossly undercooked. With some of the albumin still clear, they barely qualified as over easy.

The server's conversation continued throughout the extent of my meal, directly in front of me, not two feet away. While my coffee cup sat empty, and my improperly prepared eggs got even colder.

So: poor food preparation, poor service, and poor accommodations. That's three strikes in my book... I...

The food is mediocre at best. The waitress we had wasn’t interested in serving us at all. Didn’t really tend to our table all that much. At the end she gave us the wrong bill saying nothing about it. When we looked and realized, we flagged her down. She then explained that someone else paid our bill and this bill was cheaper and to just pay that one. She then quickly left the table. I didn’t feel right about it and calculated our bill. It turned out that she was wrong in that the bill was more than what our bill would have been. I went up to the counter and told them and they did fix it for us. But it is embarrassing to bring my family to a place like that. The specific waitress we had was very rude. She should have explained what happened when she first put the bill down on the table. She acted as if she was too good for us. Also, I can make better pancakes at home which is really not the issue. I enjoyed them anyways but I was embarrassed to say the least and will not be going back or recommending this place at all. Thank you to the staff who did end up fixing the issue....

Never going back. Went in around 8pm on a weekend. This was my 2nd time being here, but it's been a while since the 1st time. It wasn't busy. Got seated with my daughters. Was then approached by a female waitress, who seems to hate her job and have such a nasty RBF. She rolled her eyes when asking us what drinks we wanted. And not being familiar with what they serve, I asked her "What drinks do you have?" By her 2nd eye roll, it seemed she was annoyed that she had to list the drinks. There are none listed in their menu for the sodas. She takes drink orders, serves the drinks and walks away. I was so glad the male waiter took her place for ordering our food and serving us. He was friendly and attentive. He may not like his job but he doesn't show it. That waitress look like she needed to go home by the way she presented herself and made us feel like it was such a bother to tell us what drinks they had. As for the food it's just not for us, it was bland. We ate cause it was close to home and we wanted to try out this diner again as we couldn't remember our...

I find it hard to critique some establishments because I come with a preconceived notion of what they will be like. Village Diner exceeded my expectations. I gave it three stars because the food was just ordinary in flavor, quality, and presentation. The menu was huge, and my mother in law really wanted a quesadaia, but we could not find one in the dozen page menu. So, my mother in law simply asked, and they severed her an amazing looking and reasonable tasting quesadaia. The prices we very good. My zeti parm came with Brussel sprouts, a salad, and pie and was only $13. This is a nice quaint place that exceeded my expectations but I most likely will not return, unless my mother in law requests this place because if I am going to go out to eat, I want something more than ordinary.

I know I've been here before, thought I did a review, but I guess not, so here we are! The Village Diner meets my ideal criteria for a diner: small, family owned, authentic, unfussy, high quality, clean. Yep. This place has it all... My omelet was huge (just the way I like them) and loaded with fresh ingredients. Cooked perfectly too. The home fries were well done (as I like) and with the added onions, fantastic. Bacon was crispy. English Muffin was decent too. I forget how much I spent but it was reasonable. Service was fast and friendly. This place is like 3.5 hours from home but since I'm up this way frequently, it's on my must-visit breakfast spots. If you like classic American diner food, you won't be dissapointed!
