I want to preface this by saying I don’t usually write reviews but the 4 of us didn’t have the best experience here last night. The food was SO good as always, however our server, we believe her name was Marin, seemed very bothered by every single interaction we all had with her, as if she didn’t want to serve us at all. When we told her we needed just one more minute with the menu’s she scoffed when she walked away. She took 15 minutes to come back and thats when everything felt incredibly rushed. Our food came out and she didn’t come back for a little while. I wanted a side of ranch so I just pulled her aside for a second to ask and she just seemed so bothered. When we weren’t even finished eating she asked if she could take plates, we said we were still picking. She then just stood over us waiting for my brother and I finish. I shoved my last few fries in my face just so she could take this plate and walk away. Barely a minute later she drops our check and we pay her immediately but we were all still chatting amongst ourselves for just a couple of minutes. She takes the chips away from the table that we were still eating from, indicating she wants us to leave so we took that sign and left. I can understand a server wants to turn and burn tables and she is busy on a saturday night, but we weren’t even there for a long time. I’ve worked in restaurant as a server for a couple years and I would never even imagine treating a table the way she did. My family and I LOVE Del Fuego but I have to say I was really disappointed with the...
Read moreMy Family has been going here since they opened, we usually take out sometimes once a week. It was always great chicken quesadilla was awesome, recommended place to my friends and coworkers who also loved it. We all agree over the past year it has been a steady decline, the food is no as good they charge extra for sour cream when they don't give you enough to finish the quesadilla. My wife and I had no children last night and decided to dine in at the new location across 25a from the old little place. Upon arrival the hostess said she had a high top in the bar and a table in the dinning room. We chose the table not knowing it was in the narrow pathway that every time some one went by they would bump the table, my wife was getting annoyed so I asked if we could switch to the four top in the corner the kind waitress said should not be a problem but needed to check with the hostess. I was surprised when she returned and said no, they are seating someone there now, so we grin and bear it. After 10 minutes no one was seated there. So now I was angry that the lied to us, I got up and told the waitress that wasn't right she just didn't want to loose the four top to two people, she replied that's what she was told to tell us. So we got up and went next door to Spuntinos and had a nice meal. That was the last straw...
Read moreWent to Del Fuego in St James tonight. I was looking forward to a nice night out with my girlfriend since we both work 9-5 jobs Monday-Friday, however, this was not the case. I was extremely disappointed in the food tonight, and quite frankly, it was one of the worst meals I’ve had in recent memory. I ordered blackened Mahi Mahi tacos for an entree thinking it would be flavorful and a little lighter on my stomach compared to ground beef tacos. Not only did the tacos taste bad, it had absolutely no taste. You can tell the Mahi Mahi was frozen (there was absolutely no seasoning on it), and also they drowned them in chipotle aioli. The rice and beans on the side were very dry and had no taste as well. And to top things off, (no joke) my meal was “made” in 5 minutes!!! It literally was 5 minutes from the time I put in my order to the time it came out. Unless I’m dreaming, there is absolutely no way it’s possible to make fresh Mahi Mahi tacos in 5 minutes. That was a red flag instantly that the meal was a recipe for disaster. It was evident that my tacos were pre made and not fresh. Overall, a very disappointing experience to my...
