My friend ordered food for me as I’m home healing from surgery. She told me she left the tip too and to not worry about it. The person who delivered rolled her eyes at me the entire time and stormed off when I took the food. I didn’t think anything of it because who knows what’s going on in her world. Well, little did I know... 2 minutes later I get a call from someone who works at the restaurant... a man who asks if there’s an issue with his delivery people and went on to tell me that his delivery people know my address and don’t want to deliver here because I never tip. I happen to be an excellent tip giver as my parents were in the service industry for years. I explained that a friend had sent me food because I’m home healing to which he said it wasn’t this one occasion... that it’s happened multiple times. I asked when else I ordered to which he replied he’s not in front of his computer. Here he is accusing me of something without even having the receipts to prove it. He finally goes to his computer since I am not standing for this and let’s me know I ordered in February and October. I ordered 10 months ago and 1 month ago and they remember my not tipping? Which is absurd! It really doesn’t matter how many times I’ve ordered since it’s completely unprofessional and rude to call me about this.
This was an opportunity to teach your staff about doing their job no matter what & respecting customers. Their behavior represents Spuntino!
I am unsure why they believe I haven’t tipped but am so appalled that this even happened; I clearly will never order from this restaurant again. If anyone asks, I’ll make sure they know how poorly I was treated by...
Read moreSuch a shame really because most of our meal was good but I need to knock a few stars off due to the poor quality , overpriced veal parm. This was definitely a quantity over quality mishap & I don’t think most patrons are that foolish. Acidic sauce , 3 huge cuts of poorly graded meat. I’d have preferred one fantastic cutlet rather than 3 sub par , please keep that in mind. What could’ve softened the blow of the almost $30 plate is if they would’ve put fresh mozzarella rather than processed greasy cheese on the cutlets. Most restaurant/ pizzerias use fresh for these plates. The muffuletta was tasty but was not a typical muffuletta as far as chopped olive mix goes , this was more like a tapenade of only black olives , it seemed , but again it was tasty so no real complaints on that. Pasta Fagiolo soup was good. All the bread was actually amazing , both in the basket as well as the sandwich. Cappuccinos we’re nice and hot but completely watery. The size required at least 2 shots of espresso. Jenna was a great server. Sorry about the stars but honestly very insulting what we paid for that poorer quality veal parm. Hope you will improve that or lower the price. I might be back but I’ll stick to what...

I have been to spuntinos many times and really enjoyed the food. I decided to bring my friend there last night, her first time there.
She has a pretty severe shrimp allergy and as we asked questions about the menu our waiter had to ask about every item to find out if It was safe. A shellfish allergy is pretty common and I was surprised that the staff was not more educated on how the items may be cooked.
We found out everything that was fried was fried in the same oil in the same deep fryer (that’s including the “pan fried” items on the menu… which means they aren’t actually pan fried???). We quickly realized that there was a high chance the items that were considered safe would probably be cross contaminated. We unfortunately had to leave after having a drink because we didn’t feel comfortable risking a possible allergic reaction.
This was definitely a disappointing experience. I hope that in the future people with allergies can have a safer...
