Family Style $55pp Review: Overall, it was just ok. I was disappointed because I went into the place thinking it was going to be a very unique experience as a whole. Sadly, it was nothing special. I was turned off because when I first arrived, not one but two of the glasses put on the table had lipstick stains on them. We got new glasses but that’s not the point.
Located in Hauppauge, the parking lot is an absolute disaster. When I pulled up, the first thing I remember is thinking...wow what a great first impression. Inside, the vibe was off. The decor reminded me of sitting inside a Buffalo Wild Wings or a different chain. My chair had rips in the cushion. I also HATE how tiny the tables were. My entire meal was uncomfortable. Food was hanging off the table and even fell at one point because the tables are so small. As for the decor, 0 out of 5 stars. I was able to get a reservation by calling.
Prices: For the price of the family style, I definitely filled up. Even though I was full when I left, I wasn’t blown away by the quality.
Service: Wasn’t great, wasn’t horrible. As it got more crowded, our table became more neglected. I was still able to get everything I needed though.
Drinks: Beer, Wine, & Sangria included in the family style. The white sangria was good.
Food: It was good but nothing that jumped out at me. Some of the food is family style while others are just placed on the plate from your server. We were able to substitute out the octopus for the wings with no issues. I will be reviewing what I tried: -Complimentary Bread & Dipping Oil: One of my favorites of the night. The bread was so fresh and the oil was delicious.
-Pizza (family style): Small pizza, perfect for 4 people. Smaller slices but a tasty appetizer. The crust was perfectly crisp. 5 out of 5 stars
-Burrata (not served family style): Tiny piece of very tasty Burrata. Ok for an app, but would have liked more than one tiny piece. 4 out of 5 stars
-Eggplant Parm (not served family style): One piece of eggplant. Stingy on the cheese. Served with the skin on. It was just ok. 2.5 out of 5 stars
-Artichoke Oreganata (not served family style): Given one artichoke heart (small). It was very good and the artichoke was cooked well. 4.5 out of 5 stars
-Fried Calamari (family style): Nice sized portion of perfectly cooked calamari. I really enjoyed this dish. 5 out of 5 stars
-Baked Clams (family style): Little neck clams, more like clams oreganata as opposed to baked clams. Each person got two clams. Nicely seasoned and full of flavor. 4 out of 5 stars
-Patrizia’s Traditional Wings (family style): Swapped the octopus for these and they were absolutely delicious! 5 out of 5 stars
-Fioretti Boscailoa (family style): The famous “Money Bags Pasta” wasn’t very impressive to me. Yes it was good, but no better than any ravioli I’ve ever had. The mushroom cream sauce elevated the pasta but wasn’t something I would go out of my way to order. Also, it was served lukewarm. I just don’t see the hype of this one. 3 out of 5 stars
-Skirt Steak & Lamb Chops (family style on same plate): Definitely not the biggest portion of skirt steak for four people. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The lamb chops were on the dry side & each person got one chop. 3.5 out of 5 stars
-Pollo Scarpariello (family style): My least favorite dish of the night. I liked the addition of the peppers, but the chicken was dry. 2.5 out of 5 stars
-Dessert (served on a tiny dish): So the biggest let down of the night had to be Dessert. To serve a tiny sliver of tiramisu and almond cake on the plate and share it between four people is ridiculous. It was barely enough for one person. The Nutella puff pastry was bite sized and barely had any Nutella inside. 0 out of 5 stars
While I’m glad I tried Patrizia’s, the overall experience just wasn’t what I...
Read moreSo I have eaten at other Patrizia's years ago for parties (Brooklyn) and out to dinner before (Bronx) great food and service at both of those. So I was excited to come to this one for my wifes birthday with our friends and was very sorry to be disappointed. The food was average at best the service was just a whole new level of lazy.
This location is basically setup to be a birthday factory/ group meal factory they setup the reservations like time slots so we were with the 6PM group so a large chunk of the other tables that were occupied arrived around the same time as well. SO What happens here is that with the set Price Fix menu everyone in the restaurant gets the same foods at the same time like you are at a wedding so all the waiters bring all the appetizer courses out the same time for the whole restaurant, and every course after that the same so just random servers are just coming and going dumping food. The experience isn't very personal at all I have been to weddings with service that felt more personal. The way they have it setup is super efficient for them they get these large groups of 8 at 50 a person plus they are pulling $80 or more in tips easily for each table its a no brainer money machine. The cooks are working on the same food for the whole place so they can keep it moving smoothly just a super easy way to get food out quickly. But the personal touch is totally lost.
As for the unlimited Beer, Wine and Soda You get your bottle of wine on the table and the 2 "Sangria's" I put Sangria in quotes because I am pretty sure the red sangria was Hawaiian Punch with a splash of wine. I asked for a pitcher of beer it didn't come until the main course was served. The waiters like I said were quick run a drops for your food so it was not easy to get their attention to ask again but the one I did ask did eventually remember to comeback with a pitcher of meh beer. They never asked if we wanted more Wine, or Sangria until dessert. So unlimited definitely has its limits when the service isn't attentive. They didn't even ask about the table wanting beer or soda they kind of assume the Sangrias and Bottle of wine will hold it over when I asked for the beer it was sort of like an "oh...okay" reaction like it was throwing the flow off.
Now for the food so for the most part everything was just okay the standout foods were the Burrata super fresh and the Calimari perfect crispiness. Everything else was take it or leave it.
The food is what keeps this place from being 1 star as it was not bad it just wasn't great. I really hope the state of the other Patrizia's has not turned into whatever this place is because that would be really sad. As for similar complaints from other people yes the music is super loud in here and that damn birthday song does get a bit annoying after hearing it 9 times during that stretch when they are bringing out the desserts. Another thing that others have said also yes a lot of the glasses were ditty looking too in times like this now I think going the extra mile to have lip marks and spotless glasses is a good practice maybe get a better cleaning method for those. At the end of the day it seems like this place is really meant for a young crowd, like college crowd or if you have small kids you don't have to worry about them being loud in the restaurant this is perfect for that.
Final verdict Okay food...

We had a reservation for a Sunday evening, made earlier in the week, to which we arrived 5 mins prior. We were asked to wait. And then wait again. We waited about 30+ mins after our reservation in a clustered foyer before being sat, where we were then sat in a cramped corner next to the kitchen entrance with an obnoxiously loud speaker just over head. Presumably the volume of the speaker was part of the problem for some of the further service incidents.
Anthony L was the name of the waiter on our receipt, he gave his name at the table but there was no way of hearing him. Our whole table was ready with their orders upon his arrival as we had already looked over the menus while waiting for our table. Our drinks arrived 2 at a time. The one beer ordered was a miller lite, a mic ultra was brought to the table by the bartender, when we told him it was the incorrect drink he brought it back to the bar, only to then have the waiter bring it back to the table and drop it off before anything could be said again. Later when we explained it was the wrong beer, we were still charged for the incorrect one left at our table.
Appetizers were fine, nothing outstanding but fine for what they were. 5 of us ordered salads along with our entrees and 1 ordered a side of pasta. We only ever received 3 salads at the table. Our waiter seemed displeased anytime he was at our table, making an off hand comment or two that was hard to miss. After having waited for a very extended period of time one of our group walked up to the bar to retrieve his own drink which he had ordered easily 20 mins earlier. As the waiters and bar staff seemed to be happy socializing with each other and other tables who they seemed very familiar with, we got the impression we were simply being ignored at this point.
Our entrees arrived without incident and were fine, tasty for what they were but nothing absolutely spectacular.
After dinner we asked for desert menus. We waited for a while. After he had obviously forgotten to bring them to our table, our waiter seemed annoyed when we flagged him down (after he was just hanging out with other tables) that we asked for the menus again. Once again the desert was enjoyed along with the after dinner drinks we ordered. However, it felt like we had to struggle to order anything and it was not a pleasurable experience for a group of adults.
The music was turned down some over the length of our meal but I am not exaggerating that the Happy Birthday song was played over the loud speakers literally every other song, amounting to probably a dozen times over the course of our being their 2.5 hours. So do be warned regarding the atmosphere. THIS IS NOT A DATE NIGHT SPOT. This restaurant is obviously catering to loud families, which is completely fine if that's what you're looking for, but for those that aren't at least a modicum of customer service would have been highly...
