I recently had the very pleasant, exciting, fulfilling, and fun experience of acting in, and overall being allowed to help shape the production EBENEZER at this venue. Open Stage Works is a place I've looked forward to seeing come to life for a long while. It's an event venue and production house managed by some of the most explosively creative, and passionately hardworking people I've ever met. This recent venture has so far offered hardly even an ounce of disappointment. Everyone on the crew knows how to get the job done while remaining extremely friendly, cool, collected, understanding, and very open-minded to any and all new ideas that may benefit the overall creative quality of what they produce. I admire the entire team at Open Stage Works for managing to balance dedication and ambition with a purely fun and good natured atmosphere, in the most professional way.
Obviously, COVID-19 became an elephant in the room once it came down to figuring out the correct way to pull off the vision of the team, while making sure everyone is kept as safe as possible. I was always promised that safety will always be the number one priority of the work that would be done, and I was never let down on that. Everyone there had a firm grasp of the risks we were facing, and how to most safely navigate those risks. More than anything, I admire the willingness of the team to be willing to make sure that no matter what, the mold of our production, and how we would produce our show, always fit the mold of the proper guidelines and specifications of remaining COVID compliant.
Overall, I'm happy I chose to trust this project, this vision, and this team toward creating something that would be a highly positive bright spot of this year, all the while remaining very cautious and very caring of the personal safety of everybody involved. Whether it be as another participant, another actor, or just another team member again, I'd be ecstatic to work on more projects of pure passion with the folks of Open Stage Works, and very much so even attend any future general events and productions as an audience...
Read moreThis place just seems to be a "rental" facility? It seems that they rent their space to others for shows and events. I could be wrong. The worst part is the very limited amount of parking. If you park in the back, there isn't a rear entrance. Overflow parking is guided to the lot next door. Other than that, people were friendly. The place was clean. The show we saw (Edgar Allen Po readings) was ok. At $55 per person, we were hoping for better performances and not having to down four drinks in 90 minutes. But we might go back to Gotham for something else.
Update: The owner replied to my review (not sure if you can see it) and clarified a few things for me. They are indeed much more than a "rental facility." Still not a fan of the limited parking, but I'm sure I'll return for another event! I've even added a star. Thank...
Read moreFirst time there as this type of Venue, we went to see a great band and we had a great time was a little tight at times but it was all together fun and they need to work on the parking situation and bathrooms all that I know the owner knows. But we loved it on the whole. After the band a DJ was in the other room where there was couches to sit if you wanted. Only one roped off section assuming VIP ( no bottle service from what I could see) so could maybe have another section for that . Tickets were a great price we'll definitely be back for...
