The first time I went to Peppino's Pizza, I was introduced to it by a buddy of mine because I was new to the area. He told me how he really liked the place a lot more then other pizzerias. Decor: The atmosphere of the store itself could be updated, but it has a family friendly feel. There are booth seats and regular tables and chairs within the pizzeria for your choosing. There is a soda machine with a variety of drinks you can get and next to it a fridge with assorted bottled drinks as well. Food: I got myself a plain slice and a mushroom slice while my friend got a chicken Parm wedge. When we got our food, I was impressed by the size of my slice. Visually, it looked good, but you could tell it had a little too much grease on it, which I guess i didn't really mind. The moment I took a bite into the slice, I knew what my friend was talking about. It was crunchy but not too crunchy, the sauce was really good and the crust wasn't burnt or under cooked. The mushroom slice was a plain slice with added mushrooms on top but it was just as good. Price: The two slices I had with a drink was reasonable. I had also ordered two large grandma Pie's for my family another time, but was shocked by the prices. It was pretty pricey for pies, but the food was still good. Conclusion: Great place to have a slice or two and getting one pie. Anymore then that and it gets...
Read moreI have lived in the area for about a year now and on some Friday nights I work late and I drive past 3 pizza places including this one. I usually stop here because its the closest to my house. The pizza isn't really anything to talk about but I went here for the convenience factor. The men behind the counter are never nice which is surprising since they are a customer service based business. I have NEVER been greeted with a Hello, Hi, smile or a simple friendly acknowledgement and I have been here atleast 10 times. I understand they are a busy place and probably have a large customer base but by now I should be somewhat familiar. I usually get a plain slice to go, nothing fancy. The prices at this place are ridiculous and honestly not even worth it. Tonight when I was charged 50 cents for a side of Parmesan cheese that is normally free they lost my business. It wasn't just the cheese it was a culmination of poor customer service, mediocre food and price gouging. If I was to eat in then it would have been free. The guy " cut me a deal" because my usual ~2.65 every other time I have came went up to $3.34 and I brought three dollars with me. Its a shame that they are not more customer driven. I love supporting local businesses. I guess I will have to try the other places on...
Read morePizza is pretty good, not the best around. The main problem is that almost all of the staff are extremely nasty (especially the owner or owner's son). We are repeat customers because their location is convenient but have decided to no longer eat there from now on. We tried to stop in to use the bathroom the other day when passing by and the owner screamed at us saying that it's "BAD FOR BUSINESS!"...you know what's bad for business: screaming at your repeat customers in a small town and not letting them use the bathroom. I was also once screamed at by the owner because I ordered a chicken Caesar slice and asked for it to be heated up and was screamed at that the slice is "TO BE EATEN COLD". They also charge for soda fountain refills! There are plenty of other stories of them being rude to us and to other customers...just ask around or read other yelp reviews. There are plenty of other pizza places around that we will be eating at from now on and many make better pizza than Peppinos anyways. I recommend Maria's in Yorktown--delicious pizza and extremely...
