A pleasant and delightful surprise in Monticello. Very nice to have another good Mexican Restaurant in the neighborhood (La Fondita is also very good. The art work on the back of the counter chairs is vibrant and lively. Iād like to know who the artist responsible for that is.
So anytime I walk into authentic Mexican or Spanish restaurants I like to do a quick survey to spot any fountain drinks. That clue lets you know you came to an authentic place. And Memitoās did not disappoint in that category. Horchata, Hibscus and Watermelon.
The chips were fresh out the fryer when they arrived at our table alongside with the well seasoned bowl of guacamole.
Canāt go wrong with the side of rice and beans! My 5 yo son can eat that whole side by himself.
I had the hard tacos (potato and cheese) which were so delicious. They used a soft Oaxaca cheese. The potato version was my favorite bc it tasted like it was a French Fry encrusted in a taco.
My husband had the cemita with all vegetables, a huge sandwich about the size of a small football! He loved it.
Been back twice now & I will say the space is rich warm and comforting. You will wait patiently for your food bc it will take a little bit but itās worth the wait.
There is also a bodega in here so finding kitchen utensils and other odd items...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat food, terrible service, and zero accountability. I placed my online order at 6:50 PM for pickup at 7:40. I finally got out of there at 8:25, nearly an hour past schedule. No apology. No explanation. Not even a half-hearted āsorry for the delay.ā Just business as usual, apparently. Last year, the birthday cake I ordered for a birthday. It looked like it was thrown together during someone's smoke break. I gave it a passāmistakes happen. But this isnāt a one-off. Itās a pattern. Long waits, chaotic staff, and a complete absence of leadership. And hereās the kicker: the owner was present and said nothing. No attempt to fix the mess, no acknowledgment, no customer care. Your food may be good, but that doesnāt excuse treating repeat customers like they're lucky just to be fed. Iāve walked out of this place disappointed for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI spent 30 dollars on some tacos and a quesadilla. The girl asked me if I wanted it on corn or a flour wrap but I had so idea which one so she suggested a corn wrap with an attitude. By the time I got home the wrap was hard and the chicken did not have any flavor. It just looks like boiled chicken. I hate wasting food but I threw the whole order away. Not only because it was hard and dry but because I do not like eating anything from anyone that serves me with an attitude. I do not like that type of energy. Then she has the audacity to look at the receipt to see if I left a tip, then looked at me. Like really. What I'm supposed to tip you for your attitude and say keep up the good...
